Carbon with class.

The classic Brooks England aesthetic of leather and rivets is steeped in a history synonymous with vintage steel steeds and tweed-adorned cycling festivities. In a departure from the traditional leather, the Cambium line of saddles pairs those venerable aesthetics and renowned comfort with a more modern, cotton-covered rubber shell worthy of an elbow patch pairing but light enough to sit atop a featherweight racing whip. The Brooks England C13 Cambium Saddle has a sleek, race-inspired profile and weighs in at a claimed 150g less than the much-loved C15 Cambium with carbon rails.

The shell of the C13 is built with natural gum rubber, which dampens vibration and boasts just the right amount of flex and spring to comfortably support and conform to a body throughout the pedal stroke. That comfort is of particular note, as the smooth ride of the Brooks England leather saddles sets an incredibly high bar for the Cambium to match. The cover is a treated organic cotton canvas that resists the elements and breaks in — rather than wears out — with miles. The two layers are vulcanized, forming them into a single piece that will remain intact for the life of the saddle. This shell rests on a continuous carbon fiber rail, providing a lightweight platform that maintains the shape of the saddle as the miles and years roll by.

  • A race-worthy saddle packed with classical heritage
  • Cotton-covered rubber shell cushions your sit bones
  • Sleek aesthetics evoke nostalgia for classic cycling era
  • Lightweight construction sheds 150-grams from C-15 model
  • Natural gum rubber damps vibrations, and flexes with you
  • Carbon rails reduce weight and keep a reliable platform
  • Organic cotton canvas breaks in rather than wears out

Miles Ahead Of The Rest

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this saddle for my gravel bike. Sadly, the oval rails did not work with my seat post. I decided to put it on my road bike to replace an ism saddle with which I have had a love/hate relationship. The Brooks is superior for the kind of riding I do the most - lots of hard miles. It was comfortable right out of the gate. I can finish a long ride without damning it to hell.

This is just my experience. Saddle reviews are largely worthless because nobody is the same. You might love sitting on a 2x4, complete with splinters, for all I know. However, I would encourage anyone to try this one.

I am 6’2 and weight 220. What width in the should fit best.?

The one that matches your sit bones. Specialized dealers often have a handy device to help you measure.

Perfect all round saddle

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've been riding this saddle for a few months now and couldn't be happier. I've always had "performance" road saddles that are a bit more minimal on all my bikes so switching to this saddle with a little more comfort was different at first. This saddle offers a bit more compliance, with its vulcanized rubber construction that is made to flex. You can really feel the difference going over rough terrain, gravel, or on longer rides. The longer profile offers an array of adjustments while seated. Whether up on the nose in a more aero position, or scooted back while climbing seated, this saddle is a great choice for any type of cyclist.

Unanswered Question

I have a 2016 Raliegh Tamland 2. Will this seat work with my seatpost.

Husband is into it

He says: I love this saddle! My previous Selle Italia was really beating up my undercarriage so I decided that it was probably time for something new. I have always loved Brooks saddles (I have a B17 on my commuter bike) and once I discovered they had released a lightweight carbon saddle for road bikes, I knew immediately that this was the one for my backside. I’ve done a series of rides with this saddle, usually in the 20 - 40 mile range and I’m extremely happy with the comfort and performance. It also looks bad ass on my bike.
