Speed's in its DNA.

If the neoprene it's made from were its DNA, then the pedigree of Blueseventy's Helix Full Wetsuit is gifted at a molecular level. Its double-helix building block is Yamamoto C40 neoprene, the most flexible in the business. It's also coated with SCS, which is a hydrodynamic, silicone sheathe that provides an added level of buoyancy while decreasing friction. This converts less exertion on your part into more speed.

If the material is the Helix's DNA, than its heart is Blueseventy's Helix Full Wetsuit is its buoyancy ratio of 5-5-4, which varies the suit's thickness from 5mm in the chest and lower abdomen to 4mm at the lower legs. This maximizes buoyancy by keeping your hips high for a "downhill" swimming position. At the lower legs, where articulation is less frequent, you'll find that Blueseventy incorporated a 4mm neoprene with a 2mm insert that flairs toward the ankle for more stretch and the fastest possible removal in T1.

All that buoyancy amounts to nothing if your flexibility is inhibited by unforgiving neoprene, so the Helix incorporates an improved version of Blueseventy's venerable Torsional Stretch Technology (TST). In a TST fullsuit, the chest and back panels allow the arm and shoulder to "disconnect" from the suit, freeing the deltoids for an uninhibited stroke. Blueseventy places 3mm Body Fit panels throughout for a stretch that makes the suit easy to put on and snug once it's there, and the VO2 chest split construction allows the suit to flex with your lungs' expansion during hard efforts, so the snug fit doesn't come at the cost of limited lung capacity.

Your arms enjoy similarly unencumbered movement, with the underarm gussets of 1mm neoprene extending to the wrists for unrivaled flexibility and freedom of movement. They terminate in a silicone cuff for a perfect seal against flushing. The forearms have inserts of Honeycomb Aqua Feel catch panels, which help dial-in your technique for a more efficient stroke that also helps prevent injuries due to poor form.

The Helix is finished with a reverse zipper, which combines with those 2mm lower leg inserts for a quick T1, 2mm knee panels for more flex and no bunching, and the addition of Bluseventy's stretchiest lining at key points including the TST, Body Fit, and VO2 panels.

Now I know how it feels to be a shark

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XL

I bought this wetsuit on the recommendation of a friend who has raced the same model for several seasons, and I'm blown away by the improvement over my previous wetsuit. It is thick through the body (and especially around the hips) to keep your hips up and flexible where it needs to be. This suit will make you feel like you evolved for speed in the water, and that had a significant impact on my mental edge as I raced in it the first time. From now on, this is the only wetsuit I'll be racing in..

Fastest wetsuit- pro athlete tested!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium Tall

The Helix full suit is by-far the most comfortable, buoyant and fast wetsuit on the market. I have been racing triathlons for almost half of my life and the last two years have been at the professional level. The swim has become essential to ultimate success at the 70.3 distance and I heavily rely on the wetsuit to give me an extra advantage in the open water. I wore the Helix in 2013, made the mistake of deviating to a different suit in 2014 and now I'm back in the Helix for 2015 and beyond. The results are undeniable. I'm a faster swimmer in this wetsuit!

Best Race Wetsuit I've Owned

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: medium tall

I've owned a number of wetsuits over the years, but this one is by far the best. It fits well, snug but I have no issue breathing and it comes off very quickly. The flexible arms are a huge plus over all my previous wetsuits that had more material on the arms. That really facilitates my stroke in the water. The final proof is that I have raced the same races and the same people in my last high end suit and this one, and I've gone from behind to ahead of some key competitors, and have laid down faster times. Love this suit.

Simply the best

I've raced in a helix for the last 5 seasons and it's simply the best suit on the market. Wonderful group of people at blueseventy as their customer service is also second to none. Highly recommend.

Fast and Flexible

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Med

Best suit I've ever worn. Fast and flexible and super easy to get out of. This is my 1st top of the line suit and Wow what a difference.

Best suit so far!

  • Size Bought: l

I have worn the top of the line suits from TYR and Aquasphere and the Helix by far is the fastest most comfortable suit out of them. You can't go wrong with this suit.

Comfortable and efficient

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small

I'm worn a variety of brands of wetsuits. What sets this one apart in terms of performance (read: time saved) and quality for me is the material variations, reverse zipper for faster transitions, and stitching. The material varies - the thickness in neoprene - throughout the suit to ensure maximum performance and flexibility. The thicker neoprene in the legs help raise the legs during swimming while the thinner arms help enable flexible shoulder rotations and ensure a good feel for the water. The stitching on the inside is well-done and air was held in perfectly when "inflating" it. I do this to test how good the stitching is and to see if water would leak in.

Lastly the reverse zipper helps ensure I can find the zipper without having to struggle or pause during races to try and find it.

I would buy this same wetsuit again and would also recommend it to a friend.

Helix full suit, worth every penny!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small

I swam in a cost efficient sleeves suit for my first 2 seasons of triathlon racing. I did like until I invested in the BlueSeventy Helix. Wow! What a game changer. Right away notices how light weight and flexible! Super fast very buoyant and breathable! Hope this was helpful.

You need this wetsuit!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: SM

I've used the Blueseventy Helix in Olympic, Half, and Full Ironman races, and it has helped me improve my swim splits. The different panels and thicknesses in neoprene are truly ideal; thinner around the shoulders and arms, thicker around the torso.

Fastest Swim Splits!

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium Tall

I have not had great experiences with wet suits. I have had some that were too big and some that were too small. Even if I had the correct size wet suit I felt that my arms were constricted a lot. The new helix is definitely a game changer in my swim split. I have dropped almost 2 minutes off my time since I have had a better suit, more confidence, more buoyant, and it allows more motion in the shoulders.

Worth Every Penny

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small

First, full disclosure: I am a member of a triathlon team sponsored by BlueSeventy. However, that doesn't mean I have to *like* the product. I'm voluntarily sharing how awesome this wetsuit is and most important, how it's shaved minutes off my race times while allowing me to head to the bike refreshed and relaxed.

The Helix fits truly like you would expect the BatSuit to fit on Batman. It's perfect. Snug yet flexible and buoyant in the mid-section. While the arms are thin on material, they're durable and can handle the tugging and stretching required to put on the suit properly. And yanking it off post-swim is worry-free with a durable zipper and pliable lower section.

Consider the effort I put in to performance for my racing, it's imperative to have the best wetsuit on the market. And that is the Helix, in my opinion. I love approaching every race with confidence in my swim, no matter the conditions.

Great update to an already great product

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

As a previous owner of the older generation models, I have to say that with each generation, the full Helix wetsuit gets better and better. The redesigned model has more flexibility in the shoulders, reducing fatigue on longer swims, and now sports a more durable ultrathin forearm panel that gives a great feel for the water and is easier to get on. Another big improvement area is in the legs - the new flaring near the ankles are particularly helpful, as it makes it much easier to get out of the suit, but I've also found that the knee panels have improved flexibility, providing more freedom of movement, while still providing me the right level of buoyancy. Finally, the lower neckline means zero chafing. This is definitely a very well-engineered wetsuit - thanks BlueSeventy!

Great update to a great suit!

This is definitely the best wetsuit I have ever used. I previously owned the 2012 Helix and found it to be a little restricting in the shoulders. That issue was certainly fixed with this year's updates. The new Helix is comfortable and allows for great shoulder mobility.

I have used this suit for Olympic distance up to full Ironman distance races and have been nothing but satisfied.

Best Suit on the Market

This suit will make you a faster swimmer. The suit adds buoyancy to areas where you need it, the blue material in the shoulders allows free movement of the arms and shoulders. I have used this suit for multiple mile swims, 5k swims and triathlons. I would highly recommend it for anyone

I've owned several wetsuits, but the Helix is by far the best. Super smooth fit, great balanced buoyancy, great movement in the shoulders and overall perfect suit.

I love my Blueseventy Helix wetsuit. I have raced Olympic Distance, 70.3 and numerous Full IM races. It is comfortable and I will never wear another wetsuit!
