Tech Mag 1 Trainer
All cyclists, even the hardest of the hard, must eventually make concessions to circumstances beyond their control. Boonen had to abandon on the way to Roubaix in 2011, Cancellara had to climb off prematurely in Flanders in 2012, and many of us here at Competitive retire annually from the road for the northern Utah winter. We're sure that Boonen and Cancellara enjoyed the support of a network of friends, family, and professionals during their downtime, but many other cyclists of less mythical standing, when forced off the road by winter conditions, find solace in the Blackburn Tech Mag 1 Trainer.
Blackburn understands that trainers serve a strictly utilitarian purpose, so the Tech Mag 1 was designed for simplicity and ease of use. It comes pre-assembled and has one, optimized setting of magnetic resistance. This final part is ultimately what defines the Tech Mag 1 as a utilitarian machine. It's designed to maintain your base through the winter, not to accommodate complicated training regimes and interval schedules. This means you don't have to constantly babysit resistance. Instead, you can zone out, re-watch for the millionth time that 1989 Tour footage on your garage TV, and dream of the coming spring classics.
If you're riding indoors, the Tech Mag 1's rubber feet protect your floor surface and its folding, lightweight design allows for discreet storage in any closet or under the bed. A steel skewer is provided to protect your own quick release mechanism. Its tapered cones fit most dropouts.
