High hopes dashed
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
First off, I'm using this for my road bike, so invariably need higher psi than a mtb repair. I hit a rock today on a park road 30 km from home and got a nice but small hole a third of the way from the center of the tread towards the rim. Pulled out this tool for the first time and the plugs were so firmly glued to their plastic backing that I couldn't remove them intact. Finally cobbled together a decent facsimile of a plug out of two of them, long story shorter, it didn't hold air for even a minute. Can't say it would have worked better if the plugs could have been removed intact, but it was a long walk for me to get home.

small, lightweight and priced right
Blackburn isn't often first to market with kit, but what they do come out with tends to work well and at a consumer favorable price. This is no different. Its got all you need for those tire tears and pinch flat repairs needing 'bacon'. It's mostly plastic construction which no doubt helps with the price point. That said, its a little larger than my dynaplug kit with its CNC machined case/tool--but that comes at 3 times the price.

Does it only work on certain size tubeless tires? I'm thinking 700c gravel tire vs. MTB

have to have one

unfortunately you should keep one with you when you mtb. the only thing I don't like about it, is that it's not as small as the Ryder I have. plugs work more often than not, so play it safe, a small price to pay.

Meh
Feels cheap in your hand. I don't like the plug insertion method. I'll probably get something to replace it.

Love this kit. It also has a Velcro strap that isn't pictured that you can put around the frame which will hold my C02 and the plug kit. Saved my bacon a few times. Plugs last a long time as well. Ran a couple in the sidewall all summer!

Works pretty well for its purpose, but
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I used the velcro strap to attach to my top tube for quick access in a pinch. Problem is, the cap doesn't secure very tightly. On a recent gravel ride, I was dismayed to look down and see that the tool had separated from the case and was gone. The case stared blankly back at me the rest of the ride, daring me to get flat. Maybe some Gorilla tape over it next time?

Keeps you rolling.

Works to plug small holes in your tubeless set up with out having to throw a tube in. You can even wrap two plugs together to seal some of those larger holes.

Keep it Tubeless
I run tubeless on all of my bikes. This tool is essential. I'm looking forward to saving myself countless emergency tubes, tire boots and waiting around while I fix a flat tubeless tire. The carrying case for this is perfect and lightweight.

These little guys have saved the day more than once! Super easy and prevents the need for throwing in a tube when you flat (sometimes).
