Description

Salubrious.

Trail riding is easy: just take a bike, add a rider, and air up the tires. If you're missing any of these elements, a ride turns into a hike (or a bike just lying on the side of a trail, in the case of a missing rider), so protect against a sudden loss of tire pressure with the Blackburn Mountain AnyValve Mini Pump. The Mountain AnyValve is small enough to mount on a frame with the included hardware but substantial enough to re-inflate the spirits of depressed tires. Since it's equipped with Blackburn's Presta/Schrader/Dunlop AnyValve pump head, the pump's salubrious powers are also already compatible with your valves.

  • A mini pump to right the ship of state in the event of a flat
  • Includes cage mount hardware to hang on your frame
  • Pump head compatible with virtually any valve type

Big

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

OK, I probably should have done more research on this, but this thing is pretty huge. I have no doubt it will inflate tires faster than my little mini pump, but for how often I actually need to use a pump on the trail, I think I'll go smaller next time.

Bigger is better

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I keep one of these in my hydration bag for big days out on the bike. The large size lets it move air quickly so you are not stuck trailside trying to inflate a tube with a tiny little pump.

The best mini pump

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've owned a Blackburn mini pumps for a LONG time now...bought this one (my 3rd) to outfit my gravel bike. These don't wear out, are easy to maintain (if needed), can be mounted under a bottle cage or in place of one or carried in a pack....and they flat out work.

The only 'con' I can think of with this particular pump is that it doesn't have a tee handle.

If you're going to ride a bike (either on/off road), you have to be prepared with a pump/tube/flat repair kit at the minimum (regardless of a tubeless set up or not).

does the job

it's not easy, but you can pump up a mtn bike tire with this thing. It also fits in the bladder section of my camelbak
