One weird trick for quick weight loss.

Cyclists looking to shed grams from their ride usually start with the frame, wheels, and drivetrain while overlooking the water bottle cages. By offering a claimed weight savings of between 11 and 17 grams compared to steel and alloy cages, respectively, the Blackburn Camber UD Carbon Cage is an easy way to drop as many grams as your typical $500 component upgrade. The cage is also made from unidirectional fibers, so it matches the raw aesthetic of your lightweight carbon frame and Italian crankset.

While the Camber does look good, cages are ultimately about function as opposed to being seen. The flared opening means you don't have to see the Camber Cage in order to replace your bottle. It guides the bottle home so you can keep your eyes on your own homeward journey, and the rib cage design secures the bottle once it's there, so you don't have to worry about jettisoning it while indulging in every cyclist's favorite pastime of miraculously finding all the potholes in the road.

  • Unidirectional Carbon Fiber
  • Claimed weight of 30 grams
  • Rib cage design
  • Flared opening

Work with Camelback bottles

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love my camelback water bottles plus they seem to be the 'hand-up' bottle for many events, but getting them out of Arundel and King cages was a nightmare. However the Blackburn cages hold em tight and can still slide out. Highly recommend for road/gravel bikes.

cagey

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I just picked this up for my MTB after deciding to ditch the ol' hydration pack. It's light, looks good and has great hold. I haven't had any issues with my water bottle flying out on rough sections of trail.

Does the job and does it well

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I dig these cages. Hold bottles well and weigh next to nothing. The cages are really tight which keeps bottle from flying out over bumps in the road. That being said, it is still easy to shove the bottle back in the cage after grabbing a quick sip. Overall a great upgrade for anyone looking to shave a few grams but still have a nice sturdy cage.

Solid Cage

I typically only use either Arundel or Blackburn Canber cages. The Arundels are a bit more expensive and seem to hold bottles a bit more secure, useful when mounting below the downtube on a MTB. The Blackburn has a bit better styling to them and offered in a number of colors making it easy to match any bike.

    Sleek simple cage

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This cage does the job with a sleek, light, and simple design. I love the smooth matte carbon version that I bought. Holds the bottle in securely and is easy to get the bottle into and out of while riding

    does the job

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Extremely light weight and holds the water bottles great. Easy to get in and out of as well. The matte black with the wood grain looks really really cool as well!

    Great product

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had these on my bike for over a year and haven't had a single issue with them. All bottle sizes big and small, insulated and not have gone in and out with ease and staid put throughout all kinds of riding.

    Looks and Works Great

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The matte white cage is a perfect aesthetic match with my matte black and matte white carbon BMC granfondo GFO2 105. Oh, and it holds my Camelback Podium bottle just right; tightly enough so it doesn't jiggle, but I don't have to fight to get it out. $49.99 seems high until you shop it against other brands' carbon cages.

    Good Quality, Good Looks

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Water bottle cages are not the most exciting piece of gear to spend money on, but these things are well-made, very lightweight, good looking, and functional. They hold my bottles, keep my bike light, and stay out of my way. I like the wood grain look and the color backing, I have a pair of these on my MTB and roadie and they work well on both.
