For your pumping pleasure.

There are plenty of pumps out there that'll inflate your tires without a fuss, but the attention to detail and aesthetic design set the Birzman Maha Apogee IV Floor Pump apart. The CNC-machined aluminum barrel and varnished wood handle make the Maha stand out, with clean lines and a polished look that set it apart from most of the tools in your garage. You'll also notice that the barrel is tilted towards you, which allows for easier, more ergonomic pumping. It's also machined using Birzman's Evolved Barrel Structure, which so precise that the handle will slide down smoothly on its own if you release it when it's extended.

By employing Birzman's Snap-It Apogee system, the Maha makes it easy to switch between Schrader and Presta valves with a simple twist of the outer chamber. It will disconnect easily without damaging valve cores or stems, won't leak even at super-high pressure (though the gauge only reads to 160 PSI), and has a Controlled Air Discharge system that lets you release air from your tires with the push of a button, without having to remove the pump. Even better, the Snap-It Apogee's Air Lock design allows it to be used on your fork, so you can adjust your suspension without having to use a separate pump, making it perfect for trail riders as well as hardened roadies.

The Chuck just Sucks.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The interface, chuck, whatever you want to call it does not seat and lock easily onto the valve stem. I'm using Presta with valve extenders. It just plain up sucks, pops off inconveniently, etc..

Once you finally get the thing to lock up right...the pump certainly pumps. Seems well made but the chuck just sucks.

I'm returning and purchasing something else...

Easy to use, quick inflation

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've used a TopPeak for years, which is a decent, functional pump, but it's slow because the gauge takes a while to reset the needle to the actual pressure. This pump quickly settles on your tire's pressure, so it's a snap to get your tires inflated quickly. The nozzle attaches easily to presta valves. Plus it looks pretty cool.
