Fat Shield Chainstay Protector

The Bike Armor Fat Shield Chainstay Protector gives you additional protection from nasty rock strikes and chain slap on the trail. It's designed for carbon mountain bikes with fat chainstays, which provide additional stiffness and snappy acceleration, but stick out where they're susceptible to flinging rocks and loose rubble on the trail.

The flexible polyurethane material absorbs harsh strikes that would otherwise chip or crack your carbon chainstays and comes in a stealthy aesthetic that flies under the radar. Additionally, you'll find the strong adhesive remains firmly in place, even in wet and sloppy conditions.

  • Absorbs the impact from flinging rocks and loose rubble
  • Designed for fat chainstays found on carbon trail bikes
  • Flexible polyurethane is impact-resistant and lightweight
  • Strong adhesive won't peel off, even in wet conditions

Thick and Sticky

I've used it several times
True to size

Put this on the big rectangular carbon chainstay of my road bike. Installed easily and is thicker and more sticky than most. Works better with horizontally straight stays than with curvy ones. Glossy carbon weave matches my Chorus 11 crankset and rear derailleur, plus glossy carbon weave Arundel Mandibles. Tip - cut out an 8x2 piece of paper and pre-test where to mount it so all edges are fully attached (nothing to trim off) and you find the best place along the chainstay without having to re-apply.
