Looks Great, Will Work Great Too !

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I have owned a handful of Bell Helmets over the years from when I rode motorcycles on the dirt, and on the street. It's always been a Bell Helmet that I would trust enough to buy and wear. And this holds true even when it comes to my bicycles, whether on my mountain bike or on my road bike, it's always been a Bell. Fortunately all my crashes have been in the dirt on my motorcycle and my Bell Helmet kept my head from being severely injured. I would only expect the same protection from my new Bell Transfer Mountain Bike Helmet. I love the Matte Red and Black color it looks really, really good. (I would say it's more of an "orangish" red color than a normal pure red color). I don't intend on going out mountain biking to crash but I know if I do crash my head and teeth will be protected because I bought and wore my Bell Helmet. The sizing chart seems to run on the small side when compared to the actual helmet. I measured my head at 23-3/8 inches and felt safe ordering the large helmet. When it arrived I tried it on and it was pretty darn difficult to get on. I had to pull the chin straps out just about as much as I could pull, then pull the helmet down over my ears which was painful. Once the helmet was on it was really squeezing my head and I knew right away that fives minutes of this and a headache would set in. I called the awesome people at Backcountry to order an extra large helmet but they didn't have it in stock. Yet they were very friendly and helpful providing me with information and a return label. I wound up having to order an extra large directly from Bell. It arrived today and I tried it on and it's a good snug fit but nowhere near the ear ripping and head squeezing like the large. (Nothing at all wrong with the helmet, it was just not the correct size I needed). Bottomline, it's a great helmet but I would say if your head falls into the chart like mine did at the large recommendation, go with the extra large. This will save you the time and effort of having to go through the exchange process.
