Solid

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

My 8yo got into mountain biking. When he hits the trails with me, I make him wear a full-face helmet. I knew he would complain about wearing a full face helmet if it wasn't super comfortable. He really likes the helmet. He went over the bars last summer and the helmet kept him protected. Given that I don't let him remove the chin guard when on the trail, I'll prob just buy a helmet without a removable chin guard when buying again. He wears a Bontrager helmet as his tool around helmet in the neighborhood but likes to throw this one on when pulling out ramps. As a quick aside, while he is 8, he does fit the small size. The helmet is true to the size guide.

Chin bar fit is not adjustable

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Bell Helmets typically fit my hard to fit head well, this one was no different. Fit my head great. However the cheek pads came at least an inch from my face and the extra pads included were the same exact size. Bell said they have other sized pads but you have to BUY THEM from a separate company-weber sports i believe- which is unacceptable to have to make a purchase from another company just to see if you can make the helmet fit safely. Also, chin bar seems super flimsy, like it would crack in half and potentially cause more harm. Might seem better with a more secure fit but not dealing with the hassle just to see if it fits safely. I ordered a M. The head part fits great, but cheek support is way off. Im female. Seems like they designed this helmet for a male jaw line.

MIPS saved my life

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I had a direct ground impact from a dirt jump going 20mph. I landed on top of my head. I went to the ER for a CT and MRI scans and everything came back normal. The ER doctors say that my helmet save my brain from severe damage. Thanks to the MIPS technology, i only suffered from a slight head contusion. It could of been a lot worst if it was any other helmet without MIPS. The top of my helmet was cracked which is ok with me! The helemts did it's job! I'm glad to buy a replacement which i did the very next day!

Great Helmet - Highly Recommend!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I bought this helmet for a weeklong mtb trip to Moab. I was worried that a full face was would be super hot and restrict peripheral vision. I rode in the desert sun all week and literally couldn?t tell a difference between it and a normal xc helmet, other than the fact that I felt much more confident doing all the drops and other crazy stuff. Like ten times I forgot the chin bar was there and bumped a snack into it trying to grab a snack LOL. Three friends who were on the trip with me tried it and have already ordered their own. So two thumbs up. Good work Bell!

Flimsy Chin Guard

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Feels super light and airy but the chin guard doesn?t feel like it could take a hard hit. Most reviews pretty much state the same. Returning.

light weight and breathable

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have used this helmet for a bout 4 months now -- bought it for shuttle days, but it is so comfortable that I have treated it as my go to helmet for most of my riding. Just feels better having my full face protected. --- sometimes I remove the chin bar, but it is vented enough that I usually just leave it on. --- it is a great product.
