Is there any way to set this up so it doesn't get in the way of the backup camera?

    Not quite secure enough

    Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Nice quality and great value overall. Looked good on the truck. However, the velcro tie down straps around the downtube were just too long to secure the bike {Kona Hei Hei CR for reference}. After multiple attempts I was able to rig it by adding several inches of padding between the truck pad and the bike , but decided that was getting silly and I would just try something else. Clearly works well for others. Bummer.

Are there no larges available anymore? Cannot find L size on the website.... want to order but need the Large. Thanks

Hey there, I'm sorry about that, yes we are sold out of size L tailgate pads. We will be replenishing the stock on our pad in a few months. We saw a dramatic increase in MTB category purchases in the past few months.

Will the fit a 2019 new Ram 1500? It has a kind of curve upper part of the tailgate and the handle and backup camera sit up high.

Hey Rory, The pad will fit on your tailgate. Because the materials are flexible it will curve along with the tailgate, and it will not affect the functionality.

    Good tailgate pad

I almost didn’t purchase this item because of a bad reviewer, he said it didn’t fit a third gen Tacoma. I’m glad I looked, he must have ordered the larger size because mine is the exact size in the description. He also said something about wanting the straps on the outside, that wouldn’t look very good at all in my opinion. I’ve tested this out on long road trips and bombing to the trailhead on rough dusty roads, I’m really liking this pad a lot. If you have a backup camera, this pad will cover it but it will also protect the camera from a bike rubbing on it. The only thing negative that I would say about this pad is the size of straps that are used, it seams like they are too long for the down tube or too short to go around the top tube, but it’s miner and it still works great.

Very pleased with this pad! Fits perfect on the truck, (2003 toyota tacoma) holds the bikes in place, and loved the grommets to run a cable through and lock it up to the truck.

I really wanted to like this but had too many problems with it. Mainly the facet that the center section that sits on the top edge of the tailgate wasn’t wide enough to go over my tailgate (2019 Tacoma.) I also wasn’t a fan of how the long section of the straps has to be fed from the outside of the truck under the tailgate and into the bed. Seems like it would be easier if the straps were fed from inside the bed to the outside. Outside of that it seems like it would be a good product. What are the measurements on the 2 sizes? I only see one measurement which is 54 x 17 x 6in

    Hey Eric! The 54 x 17 x 6in describes our Medium, the Large is 61 x 25 x 8in. Thank you for the question!

Which size, medium or large, do you recommend for a Chevy Avalanche (2010)?

Hey Peter, as far as I could identify the Avalance has a 50 in the tailgate. If that is true the Medium may be too large. The 54 x 17 x 6in describes our Medium, the Large is 61 x 25 x 8in. I hope this helps to guide your decision.

Does this pad work for road bikes?

Hey there! This pad is not recommended for road bikes. Sorry about that!

    >Rating:

Will this fit a Jeep Gladiator? I know another pad advertised as 54” wide does but the tailgate is also not as tall as others which could be a fit issue. What’s the actual drop length from the top of the tailgate down?

Hi Andrew, The drop length in the front is 20" and the rear is 15". The pad is also designed that you can roll it forwards/backwards as needed for your tailgate/bike combo and then move the securing loops to one of the 3 webbing positions that works best for your setup. Enjoy! Ben

    Hyped

    I've used it several times

Let's be real; there's a lot of tailgate pads on the market. With each one having their own strengths and weaknesses, it's hard to know which will be right for you. To a certain extent, it comes down to personal preference. This is the best tailgate pad I've used, plain and simple. It's sturdy, built with the smaller details in mind, durable, and has a few key features that I'm excited about. The notches on the top of the pad keep bikes secure and in place, which is especially nice when you're ripping up a dirt road to a trailhead. I'm also a big fan of the internal pocket where I keep a couple of small tools and a bike lock. It's also pretty clear that it's built to last so I'm looking forward to the many shuttle laps and other bike adventures to come.

What the hell is Tailgate Pad? Why do you not show this on a vehicle so I can know? I have a Saris rack and secured my bike as best I can but it still has scratched my rear hatchback door minimally. I cannot visualize how this thing works.
