My new "Lazy" Pants

I was given this product by Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion. "Lazy" b/c I can wear it for almost anything and don't need to change. These pants are SO comfortable, I wear it for cycling, hiking, rock climbing, lounging around the house and to sleep. The material is super light and breathable. I'm a big fan of pants with zipper pockets, so I know my keys and wallet are secure during whatever I'm up to. I can't wait for it to get chilly again so I can wear these all the time. Additionally, I love the fact that these pants are made from recycled material. In recent years, I would've made the conscientious decision to buy cloths and gear made from recycled material as much as possible.

Excellent review and very on par with my sentiments as well!

I was given this product by Backcountry, but this review is my own opinion. I have had these pants for about a month now and they are my go-to option when I want some more coverage on my legs. They have thoroughly impressed me with their quality and features. I know these pants are designed with mountain bikers in mind but I have enjoyed them while hiking, under my fishing waders, while climbing, and camping. The pants are made out of a seemingly durable material that wicks water well and they have a nice amount of stretch to them. My favorite feature has to be the thigh vents that you can unzip to get some more air to keep cool. I also really enjoy the integrated waist adjustment which allows you to not have to worry about wearing a belt with them. Overall, they are a great pair of technical pants and I have had no complaints with them. I will be wearing them all summer and fall.

These pants are fantastic. Perfect layer for cooler temps, but lighter weight than what I had expected. Thigh vents, ankle zippers, pockets, etc. all thoughtfully designed and well-executed. Thanks, Backcountry!

I'm really impressed by these pants, they are exactly what I was looking for in a cool weather riding pant. Fit is dialed, fabric is nice, I like the vents on the outer thigh, and I like the small zip adjustment on the ankle cuff. The waist closure is simple and low profile and the single adjustment on the right hip has kept the pants right where they need to be on several early season trail rides. These are my first purchase of any Backcountry branded product and I am pleasantly surprised at the quality and everything they got right with these.

They look good on the website

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I ordered these because they looked really good on the website and were reasonably priced. I was super excited for them to come and when they finally did I ripped open the box and went to try them on. Now, I’ll preface this with that I’m 5’11”, 175 lbs, with an athletic build. I normall;y wear a 31x32 in pants. For these, i ordered mediums. As I pulled them on I thought they felt a little tight in the legs. Then I snapped them close and went to look in the mirror... These have a XC fit to them. You could maybe fit a super minimalist knee pad under the pant, but even then it would be tricky. I ordered these to be my trail and enduro pants in the winter and spring, when I would have knee pads underneath. needless to say, they got returned due to the tight legs. I think that if you have extremely skinny legs, and not monstrous quadrzillas, these might work for you. The over all finish of the pants was nice, BC just has some work to do and should take some notes from other MTB clothing manufacturers on pant fit.

Will these fit over/accommodate a pair of knee pads? Looking pretty slim in the knee area.

Hey Patick, These will accommodate the most low-profile protection. They were not designed to be worn along with knee pads. Thank you for the comment, this will help us design the next pair!
