Why We Built The Backcountry Slickrock 11in Bike Short

"These shorts are light enough for desert temperatures without leaving me feeling exposed to the sun." —Gearhead® Expert Jessie

Whether we're riding high-tech lines in Moab or Sedona, we need a short light enough to keep us comfortable on the hottest days and stretchy enough not to restrict our movement on the bike. Our Backcountry Slickrock 11in is built from a 4-way stretch fabric for maximum freedom of movement and has laser-cut perforations along the inner thigh to bump up the airflow when the pace starts to pick up.

Don't MTB, but DO wear these Badboys!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I bought two pairs of these shorts on a lark and to use for Indoor Climbing. I like them SO MUCH I wear them constantly. I work remotely doing Consultative Sales; so I sit in front of three monitors and a laptop all day. These are BY FAR the most comfortable shorts to work in! Gonna add a couple more colors for the Summer. Ladies take note: The "gusset" in these shorts is tailored in such a way that, if you get a kick out of glancing at your man's "credentials" once in a while, you're gonna especially like these badboys LOL. My normally aloof wife was the one who called this "feature" to my attention; and SHE was the one who suggested I grab a couple more pairs!

Awesome lightweight shorts

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These are one of the most comfortable MTB shorts I've owned. They are lightweight, cool, and super comfortable material. I wear padded liner shorts under, so I love the adjustable built in waistband belt to secure the fit. . Highly recommend.

Exactly What I Needed for Summer

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I’ve worn these for three weeks now, having bought two pairs initially and later adding a third. They run on the tighter side of being true-to-size in my opinion. I’m 180 and 5’ 11” and a M fits pretty much like a glove, the thighs being the absolute smallest diameter I would want them. A L might be baggy, and were I ten pounds heavier I would certainly upsize. The quality is there. The fabric has really grown on me these past few weeks. The pockets easily fit a larger cell phone and I’ve had no issues whatsoever with constrictions or binding. The vents are so helpful, and they were the feature that helped coax me into buying the first two pair. The quality of construction and the feel of the fabric and the perfect fit all combined to convince me to get a third pair for better laundry rotation in hot weather. Overall a solid product for my first experience with Backcountry brand. I’ll be giving their other products a closer look from now on as my needs warrant. It does seem that Backcountry listens to user feedback when designing their gear - at least as far as these shorts are concerned.

Great Shorts

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I've tried a few different mtb shorts and these ones are up there with the best. The fit is pretty dialed. I'm 5'10" and the medium fits me well, and I use the belt to close the gap. Materials are nice and pretty breathable. Planning on purchasing more colors.
