Why We Built The Backcountry MTB Liner Short
"Even the rockiest trail sections don't stand a chance against this short's impact-absorbing chamois." —Gearhead® Expert Alex
From singletrack rides to bombing down the bike park, the Backcountry MTB Bib Short Liner is a staple in our gear closet. Featuring a stretchy and compressive nylon fabric, the MTB Bib Short Liner is super comfortable and gives us the support we need on the bike. These liners have a built-in low-profile chamois pad to provide cushion and improved comfort, and silicone leg grippers keep the shorts from moving around as we ride. To finish off the MTB Liner Shorts, we added mesh side panels to provide airflow, keeping us cooler and more comfortable as we ride.

Home run!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
The chamois/pad in these shorts might actually be better than what’s in my Pearl Izumi pro series shorts. The only thing I would change is to make the legs a little bit longer - I’m 6 foot, ordered size large and they end around mid thigh. I’m probably about 195 pounds right now, and carrying around a layer of winter fat. Shorts are snug, but I imagine between them stretching and me slimming down when I can get outside and ride again, they’ll be a perfect fit.

Great cush for the tush
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Short liner fits great, the back rise to front rise height ratios are perfect when in the saddle. The chamois has perfect thickness and position for protecting the sit bones.
