Description

Brown pow is calling.

Whether you're pedaling up thousands of vertical feet in the mountains or keeping it mellow with a post-work lap winding through the local forest preserve, the Backcountry Men's Full Suspension Short has you covered during trail adventures with its laid-back comfort and riding functionality. This classic pair of trail baggies emphasizes riding mobility with its articulated patterning, which means it's neither overly baggy like some gravity-inspired apparel nor skin-tight in fit like you'd find during an XC race.

We craft the Full Suspension Short from a double weave fabric that feels lightweight, dries quickly, and sits smoothly against your legs, as to prevent irritation on longer rides. This double weave fabric stretches in all directions for unencumbered mobility, regardless if you're pedaling over an imposing boulder or leaning into a fast berm on the descent.

To ensure a slip-free fit, we integrate a webbing waist adjuster and use an aluminum hook to secure the shorts firmly in place around your hips. Laser-perforated direct venting provides cooling duty, especially on those long climbs where you tend to overheat. Additional noteworthy details include a gusseted crotch for extra freedom of motion, a cargo pocket for handy storage of snacks and small tools, plus mesh-lined hand pockets that dry quickly, should you get these shorts soaking-wet on the trail.

  • Classic trail baggies for daily rides and singletrack adventures

Don't order these...

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Good quality, but the sizing is way off. I ordered according to the Backcountry size chart. I take a 38 waist, so ordered the XL, yes, according to the size chart. The shorts are way to tight. Yes, the return is easy enough, however, Backcountry is going to charge you $6.99 for return shipping. Not cool because their sizing charts are not accurate. Back to Amazon.

Chill.

I am a female and own a Small. I am 5' 3" . Length of these shorts hit right below my knee standing up and rose up while riding maybe 2 inches. I can fit my Iphone 6+ in the zipped pocket just fine. Does not come with These are very breathable yet tough material. Not too flashy of a short so it can go with everything...bike included!

Great Bike Shorts

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Great all around riding shorts. Nice adjustable fit and very comfortable but durable feeling fabric. Perfect amount of pockets and the vents are so so nice on hot days. Get a pair!

Does the Job

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

As a novice MTBer I went with this as a first choice. Of course, the liner comes separately on these guys. I couldn't find any attachment system as I've seen on other shorts. Breathability was fantastic once I opened up the side panel, but it's only on one side. I'm a size 33 and the medium was perfect waste and length. My only concern comes from the anchor system. The hooks had a hard time finding their loop counterparts without distinct enough stitching. Still, an amazing pair of shorts to start off your MTB adventures.

Great Fit and Comfort

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I am always concerned when ordering shorts on line, they never fit me well or material is not to my liking. In this case BC was right on the mark. Couldn't be more please with this purchase. Fit was perfect, material nice/durable, comfortable, and looked good on me (per wife)

Please add waste size and size bought, that would be helpful for others decide on size.

Nice job BC

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These shorts were excellent. I chose the men’s cut of these shorts because I liked how long they were for biking. The material was breathable yet tough, I can tell that they can take a beating and keep me going. The pockets were nice and large to carry my phone for quick stoke photos, and were angled so I can access it while still in my bike.

I would recommend these for a go to bike short.

I’m a 5’3” woman size 4 pant and I wore a small, they were a little too big.

Good Stuff

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are pretty great. Super comfortable and stretchy enough to shift around with in wild rides. Breathable and true to size.

The last shorts you'll buy!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These shorts were incredibly comfortable and have a wide range of motion which make them perfect for your morning yoga class or afternoon trail run! They come with a built in belt with loop and hook fastener that I found to be very useful and sleek in profile.

From the mountain to the studio

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I wore these for a yoga class and other than the slight bushing noise they make they were really nice! Comfortable and long enough so they didn't ride up when you get inverted. I'm 6' 180 lbs and wore a medium and they fit perfectly. With the adjustments on the side you can really tailor your fit.

simple, stylish, and functional

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great shorts for riding, and perfect comfort for around town. Nice vents in the crotch region to keep everything cool and dry. Fabric stretch is everything you need, doesn't feel like it bunch or binds at all. Fits true to size large for 34 waist. My only complaint is the retention straps on the hips use a drop in buckle that seams to undo if you don't pay attention to the buckles and push them back in if they are backing off.

Great mtb shorts

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Solid short with a reasonable price tag. Nice materials, soft and stretchy. The only thing I don't like is the waist adjustment design. Webbing with metal hooks is limiting in a way I can adjust the waist. Velcro would work much better.

Nice stretchy shorts

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These shorts are great for warm weather, they have a gusseted crotch with ventilation holes under there which is really nice. The waist adjustment works well and the pockets are well done. The only thing I'd change is to shorten the length an inch or so, they were a bit long for me but I wasn't using them on a bike. I think the length would be good for biking.

great short

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

these are top of the market in construction, design and materials, sweet

Solid Short

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

The construction and materials are rock solid. They have a ton of pockets for wallet and storage. A big thing for me is the price is right and they are subtle enough to pair with any jersey you would like.

The cons for me is how long they are, the waist cinch straps are a little old school, and the button rear wallet pocket is less then ideal if you were to take a hard crash.

All in all they are worth it for the price.

Great Shorts Run A little Small

Awesome, they run true to size, but they do run a little smaller than the size chart claims. The Medium would barely extend up to 33" waist, definitely no 34.5". Also a customer told me the XXL could barely fit a 40" waist

    A tad long

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I tend to like my shorts just above the knee - i don't wear knee pads-. These fall just below, however, seems like it'd be convenient if you did wear pads. Otherwise great short, nice and stretchy, seems like it would hold up to a fall and not rip.

Do these shorts have a liner?

These do not come with a liner so you can pair it with your favorite - whichever that might be.

    Goatworthy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Overall a great pair of shorts. Good lenth and are adjustable at the waist to help wear them where you prefer on your hips. The material is surprisingly light and feels just fine riding in the heat. Side button pockets don't get used much but I prefer to have empty pockets when I ride. The left leg zipper pocket is a nice size and placed reasonably well. The only time I notice having my phone in this pocket is when I'm really spinning quick.
Would recommend to anyone. No signs of wear with a hundred miles in these shorts. Not an around town style but I always have a second pair of shorts to change into. But you can definitely get away with wearing them to beers after.
    Another quality Backcountry branded item.

    Top Notch

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These shorts have been my top pick this summer. Vented, adjustable, stretchy, and comfortable.

    new favorite shorts

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are epic! I have ridden in a lot of different bike shorts and these are the best! They have a good amount of waist adjustment and are super light and durable. I have used them when riding chairlifts and on longer pedal rides. Size up if you are looking for more of a freeride fit.
