Description

Layer one.

When considering cycling gloves to wear between October and March, it's easy to overlook one key fact: temperatures and conditions can be very temperamental throughout these months, presenting more scenarios than alternating between classic knit gloves and heavy-weight snow gloves can cover. That's why Assos designed the tiburuGlove_evo7 gloves to be part of a layering system that addresses all weather conditions rather than the answer to just one, specific weather problem.

The gloves are made from a lightly-brushed synthetic to offer elemental protection and low, insulating loft. They also breathe and wick moisture, so you won't suffer from a build-up of clammy moisture on long rides. Their silicone grip patterning, low-volume construction, and precise fit mean they don't muddle your grip while wearing them alone during fall and spring. It also means they're trim enough to serve as insulating liners under wind- and water-resistant shells for use in the cold and wet conditions of winter.

excellent 'base layer' glove

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I use these under the Assos SummerGloves_s7 for moderately cold riding and under earlyWinterGlove_S7 or shellGloves_s7 for when it gets colder. The fabric is very comfortable and the fit/finish is perfect.

I don't like to wear these gloves alone (no padding), but they fit perfectly under the summer gloves and feel like they were designed to be used for exactly that purpose. The fingertip and thumb tip conductive pads are a nice touch -- and my hands stay warmer because I never have to take my gloves off to work my phone. Other brands have tried to add conductive bits to their gloves, but this is the first glove I've tried where they actually work.

I agree wholeheartedly with your review. I use these gloves very similarly and love them. You are right that alone they are not good without padding. I will only add that if anyone like gloves snug like me you have to be gentle putting them on and taking them off. You will tear a seam. Like any other Assos garment be gentle and they will perform and wear very well.

EXCELLENT FOR CHILLY MORNING RIDES

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I wear a lot of Assos clothing and these gloves are another excellent piece, IF you don't need a glove with extra padding in the palm area. These gloves are excellent for Southern Calif. climates with temps in the 50's to low 60's, fall through mid winter and spring dry weather. Very comfortable, snug, streamlined fit with nice fitting cuff and light weight. Excellent bar feel. Perfect gloves for chilly early morning rides in So. California or blasting down descents like GMR! Would not be a good choice if you need a glove with padding for your palms or for use in rainy conditions. Only Con; they don't have a nose wipe material, and can be a bit slippery grabbing a water bottle.

Great liner gloves

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

After a mishap on an order top notch Customer Service from both competitive cyclist and assos landed me with a set of these liner gloves. They are comfortable, easy to use and provide a great base layer in colder temps or a good glove on their own from probably 45-60 degrees. The touch screen compatible finger is a nice touch as well.
