MILLE GT Spring Fall LS Jersey

The shoulder seasons can often provide a much-needed respite from the mundane. With changing weather, riding goals, and for some, even a change in cycling disciplines, a new quarter can often bring about challenges that might spark a flame of urgency, keeping us going, or it can bring the excitement of a new season. We always want to be prepared for rides and often these times of the year can make it difficult to decide what to wear in ever-changing conditions. We also don't want to bring our entire wardrobe with us and that's why we're excited about the MILLE GT Spring Fall LS Jersey from Assos. Designed for early morning starts or crisp, cool days and a pretty wide range of conditions, the brand from Switzerland once again supplies a bit of kit so suited for the conditions that after just one ride, the only regret you'll have is not getting one sooner.

As a jersey designed to excel in spring and fall conditions, the MILLE GT is chock-full of features allowing it to excel in varied temperatures. It's constructed from premium Assos fabrics offering insulation properties but is also fast drying and highly breathable when the pace or the temps rise. An RX frontal panel is a knit that stands up to chilly descents, yet is soft enough to move with the rider holding a layer of your own body heat close to ward off a chill. The innovative Type.157 Stripe Tex Stripe, on the rear and under the arms of the jersey, is a circular knit that's quick to dry and wicks away perspiration in areas of the body where its much needed, and on extended climbs. And at any point, if the buildup of heat is just too much, a slim-full-length zip lets you quickly dump heat and zip it back up, adjusting to the conditions. This tech-savvy jersey lets us leave the jacket at home while staying warm on chilly starts and it offers enough ventilation and breathability so you aren't forced to strip off layers, allowing you to stay comfortable when the clouds break or the fog lifts and the sun is out. The jersey features the Mille Regular Fit cut making it more relaxed than its all-out Racing Fit jerseys so it's highly suited for training rides where comfort trumps aerodynamics.

We're tempted to increase our ride time this time of year so we're glad that Assos employs its Triple Ramp concept rear pockets, positioning them perfectly for ease of access and preventing the dreaded droopy rear jersey. This concept places the seams internally so the pockets are barely noticeable until you fill them with much-needed ride calories or roadside repair material. The pockets receive reflective stripes for additional visibility in low light.

We're fairly certain this will be your go-to jersey, or its own, for several months of the year and you can always pair it with a base layer or a shell to extend its range. Available in 7 sizes ranging from X-Small to TIR and in the colors Nationlred, Blackseries, Caleumblue.

  • A thermal jersey perfect for the shoulder seasons
  • Mille cycling fit ideal for training rides
  • RX frontal panel insulates but remains breathable
  • 3 roomy rear pockets fit ride fuel and spare tubes
  • Rear Stripe wicks moisture and dries quickly
  • Rear accents help you stay visible to motorists
  • The perfect jersey for adjusting to the conditions letting you leave the extra layers at home

Note: Assos clothing has a very slimming, anatomic cut, if your build is less than slim or if you like your fit looser, go up in size.

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure around the widest part of your chest.
Bend to the side and measure around the place where your waist bends, keeping the tape a bit loose.

Mirror fit

I've used it several times
True to size
Size Bought
5` 9"
150 lbs

I am about 150 lbs, 37” chest, and athletic build. I purchased a medium and It fits perfectly fine. Assos seems to be going for a form-fitting style, which some folks may not like. However, I love it. It's perfect in the fall.

Odd fit - not like other Assos gear

I returned this product before using it
True to size
Size Bought
6` 0"
159 lbs

This is the first item from Assos that did not fit me well. I have a few other jersey and jackets from them in size M and they fit amazingly when in riding position (they will feel a bit tight in the chest when standing up). The Spring/Fall LS jersey was consistent in terms of arm, body, neck, but the fit under the armpits was really weird and very uncomfortable... it felt a bit like I was wearing a flying squirrel suit. Also... the front material was also a lot shinier than I expected... it's not a 'matte' finish.

I'd have to agree the fit in armpits doesn't feel right

I've found one needs to hike the sleeves up higher up your shoulder/traps to bring the material in on the armpit to avoid the squirrel suit feel. This is especially true if you are sizing down (based on their height chart), or if you have larger than 'normal' trapezius muscles. This makes for shorter sleeves, though I believe the cut on the mille are designed this way (and frankly most of their non-aero jerseys). It's a little odd to do, but only takes a second and makes for a great fit that makes seams of the jersey line up appropriately around your arm.

Is this last year's model? I see a new design with the same name on the Assos website.

This is a carryover. They came out with this jacket last year, but it has not changed for this model year. Still a current piece.

Returned - poor fit.

I returned this product before using it
Runs small
Size Bought
L and XL
5` 8"
164 lbs

Do not expect this to fit like other Mille jerseys. It runs smaller, fits tight under the arms and chest. If you don't put your arms in a certain way, they feel twisted. I bought the L originally, then tried the XL (too big, too long). I'm wondering if the technical specs on the Mille jerseys have changed. Both were returned.

Odd fit- going back

I returned this product before using it
Runs small
Size Bought
5` 8"
170 lbs

I'm 5-08/170lbs with 40" chest. Ordered this jersey in a size large per sizing chart (and I have Assos bibs that run small, so I figured large was way to go). Jersey fits VERY tight across the chest to the point that it pulls open and does not conform to my chest when in riding position. i do not have an especially broad chest, but if you are not skinny in the upper body- go with something else i'd say. Returning this tomorrow.

is this the same fit as the previous Mille series??

Hey Francis! You'll find that the cut is very similar to the previous Mille line, and that the sizing is exactly the same. It's a relatively relaxed cut, but you can always explore the option of sizing down to get a more compression fit. Feel free to reach out to me directly at if you'd like to speak in more detail. Thanks!
