Description

Erlkoenig LTD Short Sleeve Jersey

Wrapped in Assos' take on the Erlkoenig dazzle camouflage pattern, the limited edition Erlkoenig LTD Short Sleeve Jersey pays respect to the mystery, speed, and style inherent to prototype race machines. Originally created by British artist Norman Wilkinson, this camo pattern was used as a means of masking warships from enemy submarines during WWI. Eventually, the automotive industry adopted the effect in the 1950's as a way to confuse the competition and conceal new cars and technologies during the prototype testing period. Considering that Assos' extensive research and development cycles mirror those in the automotive racing industry, the idea of adopting this pattern to a jersey's graphics appealed to Assos on many levels. Assos believes that testing, testing, and more testing is what leads to better and faster equipment, and the Erlkoenig LTD Short Sleeve Jersey is the latest jersey to take advantage of this mantra.

The Erlkoenig LTD Short Sleeve Jersey is constructed from time-tested fabrics known for their breathability, low weight, and phenomenal stretch. The main fabric is Dual Tex, a fast-drying material that exemplifies the qualities listed above in addition to being snag-resistant, odor-resistant, and featuring built-in UPF30 sun protection. The pockets and sleeves are made of Push Pull, which is a finely knit fabric that sits softly against the skin while providing UPF 50+ protection as well as excellent stretch and breathability. The materials are sewn together into a cut that Assos calls regularFit, which fits a bit less snugly than their racingFit, giving riders an ideal balance of speed and comfort.

Other notable features include raw-cut sleeves that create the smoothest possible transition between the fabric and your skin for a precise hold with less pressure, as well as Triple Ramp Pockets that are optimally located for ease of access, security, and stability while riding. Lastly, a full-length zipper gives you full control of ventilation if things start to heat up on your ride and you need to quickly cool off in order to keep up the pace.

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Chest:
Measure around the widest part of your chest.
Waist:
Bend to the side and measure around the place where your waist bends, keeping the tape a bit loose.

Like the title says, the cut on this jersey is bizarre. I’m 6’2ish 180lb and fit/lean. 31” waist 40” chest and wide shoulders. The waist and chest on this jersey are good, but the shoulders and neck do this weird thing that gives it a 1970’s Butterfly collar if unzipped. And the collar rolls Also the neck is wider than normal (I have a 16” neck) The materials and design are awesome so it’s a pity I have to return it. Still haven’t found a cut like the Uno, which was damn near perfect. That cut with modern materials would be perfect. All said maybe it will fit other body types,

I love this jersey purely for its looks. It's flashy but subdued all at the same time. I prefer the cut on the RS Aero line from Assos which is a little more tidy (hence aero), but for a jersey that's $50 cheaper and with unique graphics, this is a great choice especially if you want a fitted look that doesn't necessarily cling to you. Personally, if Assos ever released the Erlkoenig again in the future, I would love to see it in the RS Aero cut and maybe even reflective inverted white-on-black instead of black-on-white—now that would be a dream

I'm a fan of Assos, their bibs are the best and I have multiple jerseys as well. However this jersey has a really bizarre cut that baffles me - when in position the bib rolls awkwardly in the lower front and has a massive bump to the extent that it's almost comical. I'm not sure that their "Assos click" guy still works there. To be honest I wish I didn't wear it so I could return this one. NOTE: I'm 5'10", 162 lbs, 40.2" chest and 30-31 waist... I ordered L.

I bought this jersey direct from Assos website when it first came out and it is inline with all the other Assos equipment I have.

According to Assos web site, your height and weight put you in size medium, your chest size puts you in large. Your height and weight should come first, not chest size. Email Assos switzerland and ask them. I have the same problem and they told me to go with the smaller size (base on chest/weight). They were right in my case.

You should definitely be a medium. I fit in a large of this exact jersey and I'm 6'0" 175 lbs
