Mille GT Wind Jacket

Just because the weather outside is iffy, isn't an excuse for not getting out and riding. After all, it seems like if we decide not to go out, it won't rain but as soon as we roll out of the driveway, the drops appear. For those days when we need a lightweight, windproof shell but don't want to haul around the bulk if it doesn't rain, comes the Men's BlitzJacketMilleGT from Assos.

With the weather being so unpredictable during the shoulder seasons, the ability to pack the shell in your jersey pocket is invaluable. What's remarkable about this piece is it gets you a high-quality Assos jacket at a pretty fair price. It employs Foil Ultra textile on the front which is utilized on other pieces in the climaX range. The material is a windproof, water-repellent, rip-stop, and lightweight woven fabric consisting of 100% polyamide.

On the sides, Glossy textile, a warp-knit windproof textile, is incorporated for its high stretch and breathability. A super snug fitting neck is never on the list of features anyone wants on a jacket, especially when we're exerting ourselves, so Assos patterns an all-new dual layer construction in the neck that improves elasticity for unrestricted movement and comfort while riding. The BlitzJacket is cut in Assos' regularFit, so it's easy to put on over a jersey or base layer, and won't act as a sail in the wind while riding, making it perfect for embarking on a chilly morning when you know its gonna heat up later, or starting off on a long descent. A full-length zipper is handy while putting on or taking off the jacket on the fly, as well as adding some much-needed ventilation when the sun's back out and the pavement's steaming. Assos designed this jacket to be rustle-free so it's quiet while in use and it gives the garment a DWR treatment for water repellency.

Available in seven sizes ranging from X-Small to TIR and in the colors blackSeries or the more safety conscious visibilityGreen, this low-volume and lightweight packable shell will come in handy more often than you think.

Crazy small

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I am a medium in everything so ordered a medium in this product. The zipper was probably 2 inches away from being close to reaching around my chest. I am not sure that even a large would fit. Nice enough but returned and will find something else due to crazy sizing.

Way too tight.

I couldn't believe it. So happy to get it today. I ordered a large. My dress shirts are all medium-slim cut. I couldn't even bring the zipper together on this jacket. I even went a size up to accommodate a jersey underneath. ASSOS isn't like they used to be back in the day. Totally disappointed!

Niche Product, but works well

First of all, this is not a cold-weather jacket (in fact I received it in Assos packaging that stated it was part of their summer collection). It is an ultralight, breathable windbreaker with light water resistance. I feel like this is pretty niche compared to e.g. gilet + arm warmers. However, it is my niche for my local weather. I haven't yet gotten to try it in a drizzle, but a quick spray bottle test tells me it could probably take a light drizzle and keep you dry. The material is surprisingly quiet in the wind, which is nice. The jacket packs down very small, it can easily be stuffed in a jersey pocket. I got the "lollyred" color, which is a nice visibility red-orange. Fit is loose enough to layer. I use "loose" here in comparison to a race fit - it's still pretty form fitting compared to other jackets I've tried. The size chart was accurate for me. The only weird part of the fit is that the wrist holes are strangely small. My only complaint is I kinda wish the zipper was two way or it had pockets. Because you can only unzip it from the top and there are no pockets, you cannot easily access anything you're carrying while wearing the jacket without fully unzipping it and rezipping it.

The color looks nothing like the picture

It looks like a nice medium orange in the picture, but in reality it?s like a glow in the dark coral.
