Why We Like The Assosoires Winter Cap

Assos' Assosoires Winter Cap is built to keep our noggin warm on colder rides. Whether we're trudging through snow on our fat bike or bracing against brisk fall and spring winds, this cap has us covered. Synthetic and natural yarns offer comfort and performance, and soft LanaProppy within the weave offers protection against howling winds. Double-layering in key areas means we're seeing more coverage without bulk, and this cap fits easily under every helmet.

Not giving me $55 of warmth!

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
True to size

For cold cold days in the mid 20F range, I was looking for something warmer than my trusty old Gore Bike Wear Windstopper Beanie. Balaclavas tend to fog up my (prescription) glasses, so a warmer cap seemed my best option. The Assos name, its miracle fabrics, and the expensive price suggested this might be a lot warmer. When it arrived, the material didn't seem thicker than my Gore, whose brushed fleece interior makes me think it's the thermal version. I tried the Assos on a 25F day: it didn't do the job. Luckily, I had a Castelli "Thingy" in my jersey pocket. Donning that over the Assos kept me just warm enough, and the opening of the Thingy is large enough to keep my glasses from fogging. As the temp rose, I removed the Thingy, only to discover that the Assos' ear flaps don't fit snugly despite my head being large, and wind flows under them, which does not happen with the Gore. So back it goes. I ordered a new Gore Wear Thermo Windstopper Beanie and will bring the Thingy along as a backup.

I have had the same issues with some other winter caps so thanks for your review, it tells me this isn’t the cap for me. Overpriced too.

This is my second winter with this hat. It is absolutely amazing. Truly the best hat that I have ever worn for keeping me warm. I didn't plan to write this review, but I saw the two 1 star reviews and had to counter them. I have an 61 cm head (fairly substantial) and it fits perfectly. It also stretches so it could fit a head larger than mine.

Andrew i just got this today can test it out till its= gets cold here...im here in the SF bay area....worst case in the morning 35 to 38 degrees. Im a leaner guy and tend to run cold.....it usually warms up to like upper 40s by noon here. so good?

Size matters

Runs small

Too small for even my 10year old 65lbs daughter. We have to return it. Its a super small size.

For tiny heads

Runs small

This cap is absolutely tiny. I wear a medium helmet and this won’t stretch enough to even start over my head

There’s several sizes depending on your head circumference, maybe try exchanging for a larger size?
