afterSnowBootie_S7
The afterSnowBootie_S7 shoe covers look like a cross between a cycling bootie and waders. They're a serious, extremely specialized, bootie option from Assos, and the name tells you exactly what they're about. For a total liberation from the angst of winter, wear the afterSnowBootie_S7 after the snows blanket the road or while trekking on a fat bike across a winter wonderland.
Switzerland, of course, has lots of snow in the winter. However, the folks at Assos are always keen to get in a good ride, even when the weather conditions are less than ideal. And, like the rest of us, Assos has had its share of frozen calves from puddles of snow melt or sub-freezing temperatures. Gaiters wouldn't do the trick, as they're designed for hiking boots, not cycling shoes. So Assos responded by making an extra-high bootie to keep your lower legs warm and dry.
The core of the afterSnowBootie_S7 is Assos' AEPD paneling for booties. There isn't a seam to run from the toes to the ankles. Rather, there's a front panel that extends from the toes, to the ankle, and then up the shin. This panel is flanked by two high side panels that extend to the top of the calf. The fabric used is Assos' exclusive strataGon. It has a stretchy exterior that's been laminated to a waterproof and breathable membrane. To optimize your insulation, the membrane closes its pores when cold, and it opens them up when warm -- furthering your ventilation. Amazingly, it does all of this without compromising its function as a waterproof barrier.
At the top of the bootie, there's a rubberized gripper to seal-off the lower-leg from drips down into the bootie. At the back is a locking waterproof zipper that has a reflective stripe sewn to the seam. The toe, cleat, and heel areas are covered with an extra layer of reinforced nylon fabric. This application makes them more durable for walking to and from the cafe when you require a steaming hot drink to warm your insides.
- A tall cuff bootie for wet roads and snowy landscapes
- Windproof membrane protects extremities against winter chill
- Repels moisture to keep lower legs warm and dry
- Breathable construction keeps you dry from the inside, too
- Rubberized grip maintains coverage and a secure fit
- Reinforced sole stands up to winter roads and light trial abuse

Please make a Size III :-)
Hello Booty Fans I gave this booty one start because I want to grab the attention of Competitive Cyclist and Assos to consider making a size iii to fit riders with bigger feet. I am a size 48 (13 in USA size) and would love to have such a high level, top quality booty in my size. Pretty please and thanks - john a

I wear a size 46 in an s-works trail... these covers take a bit of work to get on but once done the fit perfectly. I have pretty large calves as well and just like the shoes it takes a bit to zip them up. Once I’m ready to go though these are the ticket for nasty winter mixed conditions. I primarily ride a gravel bike in the winter in all kinds of crud. I have even been caught out in the snow at the worst possible time—just above freezing. The extra height of these is nice for keeping dry and the right fit ensures they don’t leak around my shoes and cleats. Highly recommend.

Tight fit and very warm.

Fitting these (Size II) over my size 45 Lakes is a tedious process but when it's well below freezing it is worth the struggle. If you have large calves these will be a tough fit. My calves are 14 1/2 inch diameter and I can't see them fitting someone comfortably with legs any bigger. If it is above freezing these are way too warm. Even in the high 20's if you are riding hard expect to sweat similar to being in a wetsuit.

How About A Size III Option?
- Fit:
- Runs small
I carefully tried getting the heel of my size 46 Shimano RX8 shoes through without ripping the material--I stopped and promptly returned them. I can't imagine the Size IIs will fit shoes larger than 45. Too bad because the product quality looks excellent.
