Description

Riding side-saddle not required.

Since we've been a southpaw from day one, Arundel's original Sideloader carbon bottle cage is not to our liking on our down tube. We steer with our left and reach with our right. The Sideloader is designed to be pulled from the left. So for us, the Sideloader would work as a seat tube-mounted cage, but not down tube. Hence the introduction of the Arundel OtherSideloader Water Bottle Cage. It's designed to be pulled from the right side on the down tube and from the left side on the seat tube.

And to satisfy our need to give truth in advertising, both Arundel's Sideloader and OtherSideloader are not true side-loading water bottle cages. This is to state that you do not pull them out or push them in a plane that is perpendicular to the down and seat tubes. They are more accurately called 3/4 loaders, as they are designed to have the user insert and remove the bottle in a direction that is halfway between perpendicular and parallel.

One drawback to buying the OtherSideloader online is you don't get to see the cool packaging that is printed backwards on purpose until you get the cage in your hands. The cage comes with a small cardboard backing that includes alloy bolts. There are two sets of holes for the alloy bolts to go through, high and low. Choose one. Weight of a single Arundel OtherSideloader Water Bottle Cage is 30g.

  • The longer spine channel with additional mounting holes allows the cage to be mounted on most frames
  • Carbon fiber construction maintains secure bottle-gripping abilities without tipping the scale the wrong direction
  • Smooth lines add aesthetic appeal to any machine

  • Designed for left-hand-dominant riders
  • Carbon fiber construction
  • Long spine with extra mounting points for perfect placement

Great water bottle holder

This is a great water bottle cage. Its sturdy, my water bottle doesn't fall out and it looks nice on my bike.

    Classic cage

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Love this for MTB'n. Easy in and out and can handle the rough stuff without tossing a bottle. Had one on every MTB for the last 3 years.

    Carbon is King

I bought this for my Mountain Bike. So I was definitely not worried about the grams. I love the way carbon looks so I scooped it up. It is easy to get the bottle in and out and it holds it through rocky terrain. No complaints here

      Perfect For The MTB

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got this to put on the downtube of my new MTB. Fits perfectly and allows to me carry a bottle and not have to wear a pack. I haven't had a bottle fall out as this cage really hangs onto it. Worth the extra money for sure.

Need a new bike so I can use it.

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Love the design. Sadly, the bottle doesn't fit in my size small gen 1 Roubion/Bronson. But I will keep this for future bikes. It's rad.

      Perfect Fit

I love this thing, I'm a right hand bottle grabber and I needed to be able to get a bottle in my Hightower LT. The other sideloader fits perfect and allows me to keep my water on the bike and not my back.

        Best cage out there.

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Not a cheap cage, by a long shot. Tacx Tao looks cool, weighs about the same, and you can get three for the price of one Sideloader/other Arundel models. But the Tacx does not even compare re: performance (bottle retention; no rattle; no bolt loosening; ease of bottle entry/exit; longevity, etc.) I have a Sideloader on the seat tube of my sloping top-tubed Helium and an Othersideloader on the downtube; same with my Noah FAST. No problems with clearance or anything else--just quick, natural/ergonomic bottle motion. This isn't just a convenience, either; it saves time and energy (mental and physical). And that makes you faster. BTW: Can't comment on off-road use, as I ride strictly on asphalt. I'm thinking it'd be more than capable of handling the rough stuff, though.

But you get what you pay for.

        Compact Frames Rejoice

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm finally able to drink while I'm riding without locking out my damper switch! Hooray!!

What is the dimension (mm) between the points in the attached image? My frame is a tight fit and I am looking for a sideloader cage that can be mounted low.

        Good solution for tight frames

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Recently bought Trek Top Fuel. The triangle is too tight for a top loading cage. The side access design works great.

        Worth every $0.01

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have the ride smaller frames so already my choices for bottles and bottle cages are limited. These are the best that I've used so far. Easy to slide bottles in and easy to slide out. Can be setup for lefty or righty no problem.

        Easy

Easy in and out, allows me to focus on riding instead of pulling my bottle out of the cage or putting it back in. Perfect fit for my tallboy 3.

          Easy in and out

I got the Arundel OtherSideLoader for my Santa Cruz 5010 because the shock made it hard to pull a bottle straight out. This solved the problem 100%. It's now as easy to grab the bottle as on my road bike.

The bottle is held very securely. I have yet to lose a bottle out of it even on rough rocky trails. I used it for Leadville 100 with no issues what so ever.

            Great product!

Not so fast. The Sideloader does NOT work on my 2018 Santa Cruz 5010C while using the lower attachment points. Bottom of the cage hits the frame with about a 3/8ths inch gap.

            the other easy access

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Arundel cages are my first choice in carbon cages. They will allows hold your bottle with the grip of King Kong and they look great also. The Sideloader and Othersideloaders are perfect for small frames or easy access on the mountain bike. I would not pick another carbon cage for any of my builds.

            Bottle never drops

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Looks great and holds the bottle very well. I use this on a mountain bike and I've never had a bottle drop. It does get scratched from use but overall it's perfect.

            Works great on down tube

            • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Love these sideloaders. Started with sideloader on seat tube and Dave-O on downtube but loved the sideloader so much that I returned Dave-O and got this other sideloader. No regrets--love how easy it is to grab and put back in.

            Great Water Bottle Cage

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm not sure it's necessary to worry about what hand dominant you are with water bottle cages. I use this one on my Pivot 429 because the side loading from the right works best with the suspension linkage. This cage is light weight, looks great and securely holds the water bottle.

            Awesome design!

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Cage holds bottle tightly, allows access on SC Nomad frame, where normal bottle cage would not work.
            Very happy with the purchase.

Looks good and bottle never falls out

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

What more could you want? It's easy to load and unload your bottle, but it doesn't fall out accidentally. Awesome cage!

            Great hold. Great design.

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Holds a camelbak podium insulated water bottle very securely. I leave the bottle in this cage while driving with my bike on my car on the freeway as well as bombing down rocky trails. It's never fallen out. Good solid construction and all the class you'd expect from Arundel.
This is absolutely a must for a full suspension bike if you're going to try and mount a bottle cage. It works perfectly on my HD3.
