If you've been suffering through a few weeks of nonstop plans, overtime at work, or an unreasonable amount of cookies in the house, make a fresh start and get back on the roads with the Adidas Supernova Men's Running Shoe. A few lapsed weeks (or months) of training happen to everyone, and they're a lot easier to come back from with a fresh pair of kicks easing you into those first heavy steps. Soft and cushy, but not lacking backbone, the Supernova's a versatile all-rounder eager to help get you out the door.
With stretchy, second-skin uppers wrapping around your feet, you'll be hard pressed to find serious fit issues in the accommodating Supernova. The breathable, light mesh hugs your lumps and bumps without restriction, while Adidas' FitCounter adds stability around your heel and Achilles to balance the shoe's soft, springy feel. The shoe's plushness comes courtesy of Adidas' Boost cushioning, a compound that manages to bring marshmallow softness with equal parts responsiveness and durability to every step. And as extra insurance, Adidas adds a beefy rubber outsole for a little more grip and durability when you start to really rack up the miles.
- Run your way back to top form in this springy, cushioned shoe
- Pliable mesh uppers breathe well and mold to your feet
- Soft Boost midsole provides excellent energy return
- Rubber outsole adds grip and durability to midsole

If it fits
Adidas Supernova (9) This is the shoe we all look for. If you are a runner you fully understand what I’m talking about here. I had the Nova 8, and so far I'm loving the 9 as well. We all seek ”that” shoe that will contribute to the pleasures of running, and not just another pair of shoes that will enable you to run. Yes, this shoe enables you to run, but dang it is the most comfortable shoe I’ve had to date. I put in over 50 miles a week on the road…which is difficult on it’s own, since it is road running after all …not trail. But these shoes have really changed my outlook on the road. Quality: I have probably 150 miles on these so far and no major sign of wear and tear. I was worried about the Continental sole, since I had heard it wears fast, I have not experienced this. It’s funny that I talked trash on these shoes before trying them, saying the Boost was a scam. Trust me, it is no scam. Score 5/5 Comfort: There is a reason why this shoe has numerous awards. Fit is snug, not as snug as a Salomon Sense Pro. That said, it is not tight in anyway, so wider feet peeps I would not worry too much, the mesh upper I think will adapt nicely. The toe box is no Altra, so if you are looking the spread the toes this is not the shoe. Good ventilation so far, but haven’t had them in temp’s over 90 yet…and not looking forward to that anyways… Weighing in at 10.7 ounces (size 9) I really wish they were a bit lighter, but for an everyday runner it’s within range of competitors. Also, I would rather have a great shoe that weights 10.7 than a bad shoe that weights 9. Score 5/5 Price: At $130 Retail - this is a great price for the Boost line. Anything above this is my tipping point though. 5/5 Looks: Adidas always keeps it so fresh and so clean. Score 5/5 Overall: 20/20
Breaking away, again.
I got these as a replacement for my Supernova Glide 8 from last season. These have a bit more boost volume and what feels like endless energy return. I recently was on a trip and brought my old 8's along since I was worried about breaking in my new shoes. The old 8's are still great, but noticeably less supportive and comfortable. The new Supernovas are primarily boost which gives them a feeling of support and progressiveness that traditional soles do have. The upper feels roomy, and elastic, without feeling like you can't turn a corner. These shoes offer just a touch of arch support and nice heel cradle.
