Description

WK3 Cargo Short

There’s something satisfying about being able to carry everything you need for an epic day on the bike. Whether out on a new 100mile loop around town or a multi-day adventure, we love loading up and heading out to see what’s beyond the next ridgeline. 7Mesh’s Cargo WK3 Shorts provide some sneaky extra storage to keep snacks, phone, and layers all right within our reach.

Two side hip pockets are large enough for your smartphone, or a full box of candy, while the two rear pockets can stash extra gels or headphones for when you need a little boost to get up the next hill. We love pairing the Cargo shorts with our favorite Hawaiian shirt, since we can carry everything we need without formal jersey pockets.

7Mesh constructs the WK3 with a synthetic fabric blend to deliver optimal moisture-wicking to help us stay cool, while the supportive bib upper keeps the shorts well in place. The set-apart bib straps make pit stops simple, without the need to disrobe on the side of the trail. Inside the shorts, the Performance Space Chamois features a high-density foam for comfort on all-day rides on varied terrain.

  • A carry-anything bib short for all-day adventure riding
  • Two hip and two back pockets store essentials within reach
  • Moisture-wicking and fabric keeps us comfortable on long rides
  • Set-apart bib straps make pitstops simple to execute
  • Performance Space chamois provides all-day cushion and comfort

I used the size chart which is very good for bike shorts as it also includes thigh measurements. I ordered accordingly. The chamois cover is great with a smooth fabric. The pattern of the shorts looks more like a men's chamois in the front. Beyond the chamois, the shorts felt both too small and too big. The cargo pocket pulls when my leg is at rest and is even more so when I pedal. The photo on the 7mesh web site also shows this pulling. The top of the cargo pocket is so tight I'm not sure how it would be very functional. The shorts are long and the leg opening is loose. The body of the shorts are too long and there was a lot of fabric wrinkling across my ripped abs (in my dreams). It felt like I should go down a size, except the the thighs and the cargo pocket issue. The straps are soft and buttery and provide nothing in terms of keeping the shorts up. I like the idea of the drop seat. They are using a backcountry ski pants version of how the bib strap would hold pants up while also allowing a dropseat. There will be woman that this these shorts will fit. I wear Rapha and Velocio mostly.
