Description

Sturmfist 4 Finger Glove

On bitter winter days when the mercury plunges below 15-degrees Fahrenheit, it takes serious dedication and some seriously warm equipment to get the most out of your ride. The 45NRTH Sturmfist 4 Finger Glove is designed by real riders who brave the extreme cold temperatures of their headquarters in Minnesota so they can continue logging miles through the winter. Their expertise led to the creation of 45NRTH and their high-quality winter-specific cycling products. Whether you're riding snow-capped trails on your fat bike, or commuting in the dead of winter, the Sturmfist gloves will keep your hands toasty with a recommended temperature range of 0 to 15-degrees Fahrenheit.

The Sturmfist gloves deliver warmth, comfort, and dexterity by using superior fabrics and insulation technologies. The outer shell is constructed from a wind and water-resistant softshell material called Polartec Neoshell, which does a stellar job of protecting you from the elements while retaining some breathability for aerobically-intense riding. 300 grams of Polartec Alpha insulation traps in warmth despite frigid temperatures, and won't wet out or cause clamminess due to the natural moisture control properties of the Merino wool liner. The palm is made of water-resistant goat leather that is supple and grippy, creating a comfortable and secure connection with your handlebars. Beneath the goat leather palm is Aerogel padding, which is not necessarily included for vibration damping, but rather to prevent conductive heat loss caused by frozen handlebars.

Best Cold Weather Cycling Glove, Ever

This is the best cold weather cycling gloves I have used in the past 15 years, with no inner gloves required at very cold temperatures. I'm subject to frozen finger tips once the temperature drops below 36 degrees. But not with this gloves. I love it so much that I ordered a second pair. Highly recommended!

    Warmest Bike Gloves

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I've used these gloves since they were first released, maybe 5 years ago and they've been solid. I've been through many Minnesota winters and these have kept me comfortable into the single digits. The materials used are top notch and construction quality is pretty good. The liners have started coming apart at the seams but to be fair I've heard from a few brands that wool is hard to sew.

FIt is true to size, but I sized up to make sure I have plenty of finger wiggle room. Dexterity in these is about what you expect - I can shift a drop bar bike but can't tie my shoes. But you get some of the warmest bike gloves made.

I had hoped they would be warmer!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I admit it .. I have cold hands , and have been searching for the "right" glove mitten combo .. these gloves are very well made, and I had high hopes for them .. I road yesterday at about 32 degrees , and very overcast .. my fingers were Freezing!! Pretty disappointed ,, will try to send them back and get credit I guess.. .. For now i will stay with cumbersome , and problematic battery operated gloves ..
