Ragnarok MTN 2-Bolt Cycling Boot
From snowy singletrack rides, to cyclocross races in stormy weather, to cold and wet commutes, the Ragnaroks keep your feet warm and dry so you can get the most out of your ride. These cycling shoes are designed for mild to moderate winter conditions, and feature a reflective upper that helps you be seen when you're riding at dawn or dusk.
The Ragnarok uppers are constructed of a tough microfiber material paired with a neoprene ankle cuff to keep out the elements, and feature Tec Tuff reinforcements on the toe and heel that resist abrasion. A waterproof breathable membrane stops liquid from the outside, but allows vapor to be released from the inside. This ensures your feet stay comfortable during more intense efforts. Please note that despite having the waterproof membrane, the shoes themselves are not 100% waterproof as moisture could still slip in at the ankle. For extremely wet conditions, 45NRTH recommends covering the ankle with waterproof cycling pants for the best level of protection.
The uppers are joined to a reinforced nylon sole for efficient power transfer to the pedals, and feature a rubber outsole that's infused with microscopic glass fibers to increase traction on slippery surfaces. The closure system is a micro-adjustable Boa dial that makes it easy to find the perfect fit. Lastly, they are compatible with 2-bolt cleats only, and are recommended for temperatures as cold as 25-degrees Fahrenheit per 45NRTH.

Warm enough for NY winters
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Fit:
- True to size
- Size Bought
- 44
- Height
- 5` 10"
- Weight
- 150 lbs
True it is not a deep winter boot, but this has kept my feet warm enough and dry during several rides. Much more comfortable than my summer shoes which left my toes numb. I normally wear a size 10 and ordered a 44 and the fit was spot on.

I bought these to use a winter weather shoe because I dislike using shoe covers. Overall, they are a very nice shoe, but they are only good for me in a specific range of temperatures from about 50 down to maybe 35 if it's not windy. I have walked through 6 inches of snow with these and came out with warm and dry feet, but they just don't seem to offer much in the way of insulation from the wind. My toes almost always end up cold, once to the point of physical pain. On top of not being very insulated, they also run small. I made the mistake of ordering my standard size of 44. With anything more than a medium weight sock, my toes get numb from being jammed into the front of the shoe. I bought them in September, so unfortunately for me, I could not exchange them for a larger size once I discovered they run so small. I manage to get use out of them by using a thinner wool sock and a neoprene shoe cover if it's windy or colder to start the ride. Because they have all but ruined long rides with frozen numb toes, I decided to bite the bullet and buy the Wolvhammers. The Ragnarok is a great way to fill the gap between my warm weather, well ventilated shoe, and the flat out frozen tundra rides that require the Wolvhammer. Just be sure to order a size up, because they do seem to be very small in the toe area. If you've only got money in the budget for just one cold weather shoe, I think I'd pass on these, or don't plan on riding if it's windy or below about 32.

These are my first winter boots. No more shoe covers! I love these 45NTH Reflective Ragnarok boots. I have about 120 km so far and I actually don’t think about my feet during a ride. I initially ordered a size 45 and found them to fit tight in the toe box. I re-ordered +1 size and they fit perfectly with a good medium weight Under Armour calf sock. These Ragnaroks are worth the cost.
