Refined and advanced.
3T continues to refine its bar bends and ergonomics supplying modern componentry to the competitive cyclist. For many riders, the Ergonova set the benchmark for comfort both in the ergonomic shape of the bar and the integration with the hoods. What 3T noticed is that many racers spend a considerable amount of time gripping the bars in at the widest section of the bend, especially while climbing out of the saddle. 3T then set out designing the corners to specifically support the hands, while reducing pressure, while in this position so all of the touch points, the hoods, the tops, and the drops are comfortable enough that riders are more likely to use all of the positions. To do this, 3T made the shape wider where the tops transition to the drops and with more real estate on offer, less pressure is concentrated to a smaller area of the hand. Further refinement of the reach and the modern compact drop provides a better platform for the hands when used with the latest shifter and brake levers and thus, a new bar was born. The particular bar we have here is the Superergo Team Stealth.
Now that we know the bar's shape is beneficial for climbing, sprinting, and descending we'll delve into a few more details. It is constructed of unidirectional high modulus carbon fiber, and this bar tips the scales at an impressive 200g, plenty light enough if your building up a climbing bike and stout enough for taking on the classics. The carbon layup also helps soak up vibrations so you'll stay fresher for longer. Internal routing is standard so installing Di2 or mechanical shifting as well as rim or hydro brake housing is a breeze. The matte finish and understated graphics look good with any bike's paint scheme.
