Why We Like The Ibis Exie NGX Mountain Bike
Whether we are racing for the podium or just crushing our local singletrack, the Ibis Exie is one of our favorite bikes when we need to go fast and put in the miles. With a sub-4.5-pound frame, efficient DW-Link suspension, and 29-inch wheels, the Exie was made to compete. Size-specific seat tube angles ensure every ride on an Exie is in the perfect position to conquer climbs, and short 435mm chainstays across all sizes ensure agile and nimble handling. The Exie has a 100mm of DW-Link suspension, which climbs and pedals as efficiently as possible and ensures no energy is lost to an overactive suspension. With a 67.2-degree head tube angle, we are able to handle descents with ease by keeping our front wheel out ahead of us, and when combined with a 120mm fork, we are unstoppable. An integrated chain guide makes sure we don't have to waste time aligning our chain back onto our cassette, and two water bottle mounts inside the front triangle allow us to stay hydrated all ride long.
The NGX build of the Ibis Exie gives us quality components that don't cost an arm and a leg. A mixed SRAM NX and GX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain give us a huge gear range and proven reliability, so we can have peace of mind spinning up any hill. Next, Fox suspension sends this build sky high, giving us a Float Performance 34 Step-Cast 120mm fork to handle the big hits up front while keeping the weight to a minimum and a Fox Performance Float DPS rear shock to handle the traction and small bump sensitivity. Finally, Maxxis Rekon Race tires ensure we are race ready and give us grip and traction without the added rolling resistance.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level. Does it all very very well

I've seen of comments on how ugly this bike is, but man, I could not disagree more. What a beauty. I could stare at it all day long. The good: This thing climbs like crazy, yet is not all that light. Ibis nailed the gear ratios. The seat is very comfortable. The wheels are some of the best wheels I've ever seen from a factory bike. Very light. And SRAM GX is absolutely amazing. So fast. So crisp. BY FAR, the best shifting kit I've ever used. Much improved over SRAM NX. The bad: There is no way my riding talent will ever match this bike's capabilities. I guess I overbought, but I got such a smoking good deal on it that it was worth every penny. I look forward to trying to catch up with it.

Excellent everyday trail bike
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer

Bought a large end of February. Can’t get enough of it on the every SoCal trail around. Handles chunky downhill surprisingly well, yet makes extra miles easy. I have a long torso, shorter legs—the L works great except the stock dropper length min is just too long ( 30” inseam).
