Free Speed.

Take a second to think about how you would describe speed to a stranger. We're willing to bet that aerodynamic helmets, deep wheels, and compression tri-suits filled your imagination, but what about speed in the water? That's right, we understand that the swim is the most common weak leg in a triathlon, but not half as much as Zoot does. With its Z Force 3.0 WetZoot, Zoot incorporates a majority of the hydrodynamic and buoyancy features of the Prophet, only at a price that lends itself to some extra money for recovery drinks.

In order to precisely blend buoyancy with flexibility, Zoot placed different thicknesses of Yamamoto C39 neoprene throughout the Z Force 3.0. Accordingly, the front body is comprised of a 4.0mm layer of this neoprene. Why C39? Because it's the industry-leader in pairing stretch with buoyancy, and it has the second highest cell density of any neoprene on the market. This plays directly to what Zoot calls its AQUAlift system. Essentially the goal of this design is to provide lift to the torso and legs, and this is why the front of the body's thickness resides just one millimeter shy of the IFR maximum allowance. So, with a 3mm back and a 5mm seat panel, the suit opens up your body for the perfect stroke position in the water. However, you might be wondering why this lift is of importance?

Well, just as sleek shapes minimize your drag coefficient on land, the wetsuit's level of buoyancy is the minimizing variable in the water. The supporting science behind this claim is fairly elementary -- water is around 1000 times denser than air, and it produces a potential drag coefficient 10 times that of air, as well. So, minimizing your body's submergence is vital to optimizing hydrodynamics.

Furthering your speed in the water are two variables -- your ability to move and the efficiency of those movements. As you probably guessed, the aforementioned are both interconnected. So, Zoot decreased the neoprene's thickness at the arms. As a result, the upper and under sleeves feature a 2mm Yamamoto C39 composition. And given that the locomotion of the legs is more angular than circular, the Zoot constructed the legs from a thicker neoprene, 4mm at the front and 3mm at the rear. Altogether, the combinations of thicknesses and cell densities strikes the ideal balance between flexibility and body positioning.

But, in terms of turning that motion into effective power, Zoot still had a few tricks up its sleeve. At the legs, the Z Force utilizes a proprietary technology that Zoot calls its Optimal Kick Design. Essentially, this is a leg patterning that conforms to your anatomy instead of working against it. So, when you hold the wetsuit from the collar, it appears to be pre-shaped. However, this demonstration won't tell you that OKD increases your kick velocity, frequency, and efficiency. At the chest panel, Zoot also incorporated its 3mm SCS GLIDEflex grooving. As a result of the SCS treatment, kinetic friction is decreased, hydrodynamics are increased, and flexibility is ensured.

At the back, you'll find Zoot's Dorsal Flex Zipper design that utilizes a slight 2mm zipper panel. This also aids in flexibility over the scapula and back, while concurrently allowing the necessary lung expansion for hard efforts.

The Zoot Z Force 3.0 WetZoot is available in the color Black and in six sizes from X-Small to XX-Large. Please note that Zoot also provides LS, ML, MS, and MT options, as well.

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Standing with your feet together, measure around the widest part of your hips.
