Ultra Tri Speed 8in Men's Shorts

We don't have to tell you that racing is synonymous with speed. However, we do wish that more apparel manufacturers got the speed memo. Not surprisingly, though, Zoot doesn't need any reminders on this subject. And if you're looking for tangible proof, its new Ultra Tri Speed 8in Shorts provide all of the proof that you need.

Starting with the bulk of the Ultra Tri Speed shorts' construction, Zoot used its venerable ULTRArevo with an HP Speed Finish. We'll break this title down into two categories, given that ULTRArevo is the fabric and HP Speed is the treatment. So, starting with the former, this material was implemented for its supportive knit structure. Featuring a compressive fiber weight and structured knit, ULTRArevo is supports the muscle groups without a feeling a constriction. Accordingly, by lessening the fatigue-inducing effects of road vibration and run impact, you're able to retain a higher threshold throughout the land legs of your race. Additionally, this fabric is highly breathable and it also efficiently manages moisture.

As for the HP Speed Finish, this treatment places a priority repelling water. So, in other words, it's engineered to be hydrophobic. In fact, it's developed on a fiber by fiber basis, where each yarn is isolated and a barrier is created around it. Accordingly, water is thoroughly repelled, increasing your speed and comfort through the water. And, just as importantly, this finish directly equates to a quick dry post-T1. Even better, when combined with the high-gauge construction of ULTRArevo, the material becomes resistant to both sand and pilling.

In terms of fit, the Ultra Tri Speed was design with racing in mind. To achieve this, Zoot incorporated its proprietary stitching, SeamLink. This technique minimizes the stitch profile along the seams, providing a next-to-skin fit that nearly eliminates the risk of chafing and abrasion. Welded leg hems permit a complete range of motion for the swim, the saddle, and the run.

Furthering this level of comfort, Zoot included its Integra SBR 2D chamois. This insert features a minimalist construction as to provide enough support for the bike leg without inhibiting comfort in either the swim or run. And because of the swim, Zoot also designed the Integra to be water-resistant and quick-drying. So, you won't be racing soggy after T1.

For training purposes, Zoot engineered the material to be chlorine-resistant. And for race day purposes, it also features a UPF 50+ level of protection.
