Baggy Shorts for Hipsters
These pants can only be considered "baggy" or "mountain" if you have grasshopper legs and wear tight jeans all the time. I have a pair of size L Pearl Izumi Canyon shorts, and a pair of XL Sugoi RSX shorts. The Pearl Izumi fit normal and the Sugoi's are a bit large on me. I normally wear size 36 pants, so I followed the size chart and went with the XL. Since 36 is the low end of the XL range, I was expecting a more baggy fit similar to the Sugoi's. Not really. I felt like I was putting on a pair of spandex shorts. These are kind of in-between the baggy freeride or all mountain style kind of gear and road shorts erring more on the road short side.
Took these to Moab. Hiked and biked in them. great anyway you use these.
These are my favorite all day shorts. They breath well and that matters here in the GA. The pocket give you plenty of storage and security for what ever I my need to tote with me. They also look great, so I can it the pub in these also. Function and Style!
This is the second pair of Zoic shorts I have purchased, excellent quality, very comfortable, and a great value (purchased on sale). I would recommend these shorts as well as Huck and Roll. Speedy shipping and excellent customer service!
Buttons fell off after 1st wash.....booooooo
This is my 2nd zoic shorts for I find them to have the most bang for the bucks. But on this latest purchase, after washing for 1st time, the button fell off as I just had a light thug of the waist Line to check its stretchiness. My kid's $ 12 dollars pant's buttons are stronger! I cannot imagine why zoic will have such a light duty buttons on their products. Just a fluke? Or a lemon? Now I have to deal with the hassle of fixing or returning for replacement.
They Run Small
Ordered the XL and they were too small and I had to return them. I'm tall and thin so I wasn't too shocked that they weren't long enough, but was a bit surprised that they also felt tight in the thighs. Might be fine for someone with a different build, but just sayin'...compared to say, Fox, these run a bit small. Gave them 3 stars because the look, material and pad seemed fine.
Good features, okay fit
Elastic is a bit bunchy for me and they weren't quite as slick post washing. glasses wipe is cheap - fox does way better
still nice balance between light but still features
AWESOME SHORTS. LOVE THE FIT. I TOOK A PRETTY BIG SPILL AND LANDED AGAINST A TREE. I THOUGHT MY SHORTS WOULD HAVE BEEN TORN AFTER SLIDING OVER ROCKS AND ROOTS. I GOT UP AND THEY WERE FINE. JUST BRUSHED THE DIRT OFF AND THEY LOOKED LIKE NEW. NOT EVEN A SNAG. OH AND THE PADDING FEELS GREAT ON LONG RIDES.
Well made and good fitting!
Lots of zippered secure pockets. The side front pockets are woefully shallow, good for Kleenex and not much else of value as things tend to disappear when you least expect from ones this shallow.
Have yet to put the "diaper" inner pants to a good work out as yet but they appear to be built for the
Great ventilation and range of motion, few things to improve ...
Durable, great ventilation and excellent range of motion -- use them rock climbing too. The zippers should be improved (using YKK for smother operation). The zipper pull on the back pocket tends to hung up on car seats, etc.
The seam just below the zipper ripped out 15 minutes into my first ride. We were just about to head out on a bike vacation so I asked my wife to sew them up. Her stitching is lasting so far.
As for comfort, they are top notch. But I am very disappointed in the seam strength.
These were my first mtb shorts and after acquiring a few pairs of shorts and chamois from other brands these still have the top spot for my rides. These are just excellent. They are tough, light, and breathe incredibly well. The chamois liner is great and stays in the right spot. Highly recommend.
Very comfortable, great fit, and pockets all well located. There isn't anything I don't like about the shorts. I am generally a 32-33 in pants/shorts, and the Medium is a perfect fit.

Im a big guy 6'3 245 - 250 does anyone recommend shorts for my size
Yeah I would also like to hear what others have to say about this.
Try any one of ZOIC's shorts. They range from S-3XL, so bound to find your size in there somewhere.
Ether is the best seller.
Black Market is a stretch fabric, so tends to help in larger sizes.
I'm 6' 3 1/2" and weighed 256 this morning. Wearing a size 38 normally and I'm wearing an xl in Zoic's Reckoning short (got the last pair here) They fit snug, not tight, but just fit, room to move with no stretching or binding, but no bagginess. If you want baggy, go up a size.
Great MTB shorts
I just got these and took them for a ride. The fit and styling are great, the length is perfect and the liner is super comfortable. They appear to be very well made with some great details. I highly recommend these shorts. Make sure you view their sizing chart before ordering because they are sized slightly differently than other brands.
great shorts, fit is good, looks good.i weigh between 177-185 and i bought extra large.been thru wash 3-4 times, looks and fits like new.
Perfect for weekend rider
This are my first bicycle shorts and they fill great.
Look totaly normal when I'm off the bike. All the pockets are very usefull.
Best short i have worn for the $$
This is an awesome short for $70. The fabric is light but still tough and it comes with a removable mesh liner with a molded CoolMax chamois. I love the cinch on the sides as i can adjust the waist super easily. These shorts are great to just wear around without the liner.
Great shorts; just what I was looking for. These are my first MTB shorts, but knew what I was looking for and these filled the bill. I've been wearing them for a month or so, . . . . several hundred miles of wear; they seem well made and launder well. The liner shorts are okay, maybe a little light on the padding, but I wear Pearl Izumi padded shorts under the Zoic Ehter shorts instead. Still, I'm sure the Zoic shorts are fine, just a matter of preference.
