ZOIC Black Market Plaid Short - Men's $78.95
Loaded with a ton of features, including the added style of a plaid print, the Zoic Black Market Plaid Mountain Bike Short is an ideal companion on all of your rides.
The most important feature of the Black Market Plaid short is its chamois liner. The chamois, called the Zo-Tech, is Zoic's highest-quality, multi-level, stretch chamois. It's even made with recycled polyester so it gives a little back. The chamois cushions impacts and reduces vibrations in the saddle. The liner is also fully removable, which makes the Black Market extremely versatile. You can wear the shorts with the liner, then ditch the liner post-ride, or wear the liner with other shorts to transform them from casual shorts to riding shorts.
The Black Market Plaid's list of features doesn't end with its removable chamois
liner, though. The whole body of the Black Market is made with a stretch
material that won't bind or limit your range of motion. The
fabric also pulls moisture away from your skin to keep you dry and
comfortable. The Fusion Gusset inseam further increases the short's
range of motion and eliminates seat hang-ups, while vents below the
waistband in the back and down the legs promote airflow so you can stay
cool on hot days of riding. The Black Market also comes with plenty of
pockets–two front, two thigh, and one back– so you have plenty of room
for your essentials. There's even a microfiber sunglass-wipe to keep your vision clear.
As far as fit is concerned, the Black Market's cuffs fall right at the knee. The leg holes are loose enough that they don't interfere with knee pads. Zoic also included a nylon webbing belt so you can fine-tune the fit. The flat front waistband is secured with a standard zip-and-snap closure.
ZOIC Black Market Plaid Mountain Bike Shorts come in sizes Small through 3X-Large. They are available in White Square, Castle Square, Black Square, and Brown Plaid.

Almost there Zoic
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
The Black Market shorts are good overall for a range of cycling and activities. The padded liner is middle-of-the-road for padding thickness but is very well ventilated. The functionality of these is slightly less (flexibility, vents, pockets) for me than the Ether but the price is similarly lower and I consider them a fair value.
Best baggy shorts in the price range.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
These are great shorts. They are not baggy bro shorts, but baggy enough. I would actually prefer smaller leg openings and a slightly leaner fit. Let me qualify by saying I do not like shorts to go past my knee or fit slouchy. The liner is great, best shorts for the price.
