Although the market is saturated with synthetic fiber, merino wool is still leaps and bounds above them in terms of thermoregulation. Merino wool is a naturally hydrophilic fabric. This means that it is able to absorb water while retaining a dry feel on the exterior. When you work up an effort and your feet perspire, the merino captures the sweat and a naturally occurring wicking action pulls it to the surface. This keeps your feet dry and helps to regulate their temperature. Your feet won't overheat in the summer and chilly air won't create and evaporative cooling effect in the winter.

Now, although merino wool is truly exceptional, it does have a drawback. Namely, it doesn't perfectly hold its shape. To this end, Zero RH+ added a light stretch yarn to the weave. This, combined with a multi-layered support stretch band at the cuff, ensures that your socks will not roll down into your shoes.
