Zero RH + PW Revo Jersey $219.75
Wrapping your torso with care.
The PW Revo Jersey was designed in Zero RH +'s Powerlogic development lab, where new designs and manufacturing techniques for its cycling apparel come together through extensive research and testing. As a result, the PW Revo jersey was constructed with proprietary fabrics that use differentiated stretch factors, laser-sealed appliques, and geometric seams in order to create the best 'preformed anatomic construction' possible in a cycling jersey.
The body panels of the PW Revo were constructed with the Firedry Gold Sensitive fabric. Zero RH +'s Firedry is a system of materials made into four versions that are distinguished by different weights and stretch characteristics. As with all of the Firedry fabrics, the Gold Sensitive is lightweight and breathes exceptionally well. It also incorporates highly-elastic fibers that support the body's muscle through a full range of motion. However, what sets the Gold Sensitive iteration apart from the other variants is its super-soft feel against the skin and added stretch. The front and rear torso panels were constructed with this fabric due to its ability to firmly hold your core muscles in place while riding. Zero RH + also targeted both sides of the spine and underarms with its stretch mesh fabric in order to further ventilate your body and increase moisture transfer. These inserts have been partially bonded with ultra-flat smooth seams, keeping you both supported and irritation-free.
The jersey's panels were joined together using a technique known as 'preformed anatomic construction.' This method of cutting the individual panels on a curve provides a comfortable, natural fit, especially in the crouched riding position. Zero RH + knows that this tucked-in fit requires special attention to areas prone to fabric bunching and pulling, which is why it notched a 'V' shape in the back of the neck for a free range of head motion. It also rounded out the bottom hem and treated it with a generous, 5cm-tall elastic/microfiber gripper in order to keep the jersey's lower half secure. The jersey uses raw-edged hems at the arms, which create a consistent hold using smooth, elastic-free tension. And, in addition to comfort and less overall drag, this finishing technique also ensures optimum upper-arm stability through its supportive tension.
Finishing details on the PW Revo include a bonded invisible front zipper, four rear pockets, and reflective elements. The jersey's three traditional pockets stash your extra clothes and nutrition, while the central zip pocket keeps your smaller valuables safe. Additionally, the pockets were lined with a fixed fabric insert material that provides extra grip on your gear in order to create a 'pocket locking system.' This means that your essentials have extra insurance from making a premature escape onto the road behind you.
The Zero RH + PW Revo Jersey is available in five sizes from Small to XX-Large and in the colors Black and White/black.
- How to Measure:
- For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
- Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
- Natural Waist:
- Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
- Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
- Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
What community has to say
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I'm 5'11", 162lbs, 31 in waist, 39.75 chest. Ordered size XL which was form fit. The material feels very soft to the touch and very comfortable in two rides around 60 miles each. As backcountry's title suggests, it literally tries to wrap your torso with care.
During the second ride, I noticed that the bottom hem was moving around on me on the bike. The rounded out bottom hem that has an elastic/microfiber gripper (in order to keep the jersey's lower half secure), had actually come "unglued." The elastic that is supposed to be bonded to the jersey fabric had come off almost all the way. The other Zero jerseys I have tried did not have this hem feature where elastic was bonded and tucked under the jersey material.
I really wanted to love this jersey because it felt really good on but unfortunately, it was either defective or designed poorly. Since there were no others in my size, I have not been able to try out another one.
Very light weight jersey for hot days
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Love this jersey. Fits very tight and breathes very well. Great for days inside on the trainer or outside in the height of summer. You have to like all the venting though. Looks cool but very high tech looking. I'm sure the look isn't for everyone. The fit and quality of the accompanying bib shorts is also excellent.
