Are these water-resistant for riding in light rain?

Not sure if my fault or not...

Not sure if this is my fault or not, but on the first ride I wore these shoe covers on, I noticed a hole (about 1/2" diameter) near the outside-toe of the right foot.

I suppose I may have scraped my shoe while standing off the bike, so I have not requested a return, but would like to mention this. It does seem a little strange that there was a hole after just 1 ride.

I had the same issue. I love how they look and they provide "ok" protection from the elements. But I didn't like how fragile the material is. I would expect the covers to withstand some road wear.
