Foam rollers have become an increasingly popular body manipulation tool for both stretching and exercise. The foam roller meets the 21st century with The Grid from Trigger Point Performance Therapy.
Rather than being a solid, single-density cylinder, The Grid is a hollow, multi-density cylinder that allows for different kinds of pressure. As with other rollers, this can be used for full-body massaging and post-exercise flushing, an easy way to stretch and de-kink tired muscle groups. The Grid's advantage is that the padding has three distinct zones for three different kinds of pressure. There are low and flat pads that mimic the feel of the forearm and palm of your hand. There are small high and firm pads that your body will sense to be like fingertips. And then there are medium and tubular pads that feel like a thumb and fingers. While you can roll over all of these, you can set the roller so that certain zones roll against the body back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, giving you the massage experience your body needs.
