THE SERVICE COURSE
Service course: That's PRO-speak for the warehouse where all the team gear is kept -- bikes, wheels, helmets, parts -- and where the team mechanics build and clean and tear down bikes. Think of it as a garage. A big dumping place. And that's what you'll find here -- links to stuff that doesn't have a logical home on our site. We've dumped it all here. News, gossip, blogs, and idle chit-chat.
What's New
In the bike industry the act of re-printing press releases passes as journalism. Over-sentimental reminiscences fraught with adverb-abuse and cliché pass as high literature. Opinion is suppressed for the fear of offending advertisers and customers. That's lame, and it's exactly what our weekly What's New dispatches are not. Click here to read the latest.
Team Panther
Team Panther is now in its third year of existence, and with the addition of Competitive Cyclist as co-sponsor the squad is armed & ready to be a commanding presence in the elite amateur peloton. The Team Panther blog is where we post race reports and other info about the team and its exploits.
Michael Barry: Le Métier
Michael Barry is on the all-time list of best-ever North American domestiques. While he's devastated the peloton on behalf of a team leader countless times, he's become just as well-known for his books and the beautifully-written articles he's done for publications like the New York Times. After seasons with US Postal, Discovery, T-Mobile, and Columbia-HTC, he's now on Team Sky. Le Métier is where Michael will document his season in prose, photos, and video.
Craig Lewis: File Under Pain
Craig Lewis has excelled as a domestique for Team Columbia-HTC, and his lofty results in races like Paris-Nice, the Dauphiné Libéré, the Tour de l’Avenir, and Tour of Ireland show his competitiveness amongst the world’s best stage racers. Follow Craig's blog here as he works to emerge as a star of the ProTour peloton.
