Icy refreshment.

Have a big crew and not enough cooler space to keep their drinks and food cold? Yeti's Tundra 65 Cooler will solve all your problems, with a crowd-pleasing capacity and the ability to keep important stuff cold for hours on end. PermaFrost insulation makes sure cold stays in and heat stays out, while the Rotomold construction can take a serious beating and the Bearfoot non-slip feet keep your drinks and snacks from sliding away across the boat floor or truck bed. Yeti designed the Tundra to prevent condensation, too, and it included a Vortex drain that makes it easy to dump water so you don't have to schlep a sloshing cooler around with you on the way home.

Awesome Cooler!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought the Tundra 65 in white and the Roadie in tan. I will say these things are built like a tank. Probably the last coolers I buy unless I decide to get a bigger one. The 65 was perfect for a 3 day camping trip for my wife, daughter, and I. It held plenty of food and drinks for all 3 of us. I must admit I had the Roadie packed with beer to help. I would definitely want a bigger one for any longer than 3 days though. We got the Roadie for the all day in and out drink cooler so we wouldn't keep opening the food cooler. The surface temperature of the different colors is definitely worth noting. When both of them were in direct sunlight, the tan one was hot to touch while the white one was always cool. That's what I had anticipated and why I bought the colors in the sizes I did. The larger white one will usually just be in the bed of my truck or nearby at the campsite while the tan Roadie is what we drag everywhere. The tan definitely hides dirt much better than the white one. So get the white if you're looking to conserve ice and get the tan one if you are going to get it filthy. Jared Downs at helped me out by getting it to me on time before I left for our trip. I have been dealing with Jared over the years for everything I buy from Backcountry and he has always been awesome. He has great product knowledge and always helps me find the best deal. I can't say enough good things about him. Plus he always has cool pictures of his latest adventures.

Thanks for the awesome review! Always happy lending a hand with your gear needs.

YETI Tundra 65 Cooler

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I just upsized from the 45 to the Tundra 65. For weekends wondering, the 65 gives plenty of space to support the family of 3, where the smaller version always felt tight.

No arguing that these things are bomber.

Monster of a Cooler

I haven't been able to use my Tundra 65 yet, but my first impressions have been very positive. I had no idea coolers could be this detailed and over-built. I look forward to the maiden voyage to Yosemite this weekend. I'll give an update as I get some experience using it.

    Gotta Have One!

Simply put this cooler is the best. Keeps ice, in the desert, 3 times longer then any other cooler I have. Wildly Stronger..Keeps Ice Longer.

      Get it!

This is the best cooler I have ever owned. Brought this camping over the weekend and there was barely any ice melt after a full weekend outside. Strong, durable, and reliable all the things that make for a quality product.

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I expect this cooler to last a very long time. Keeps cold for a very long time even during hot Utah summers. It't quite heavy when loaded up and the width makes it pretty hard to carry yourself so plan ahead.

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Definitely the most heavy duty cooler I've ever used. The included tray to keep dry things dry inside of the cooler is great and the ice retention is incredible. My Dad took this down to Moab doing some volunteer work and the ice lasted from the day he left to the day he got back, which was about 8 days.

        love that long lasting ice!

nothing more can really be added to explain how awesome Yeti's are. This cooler performed flawlessly like my other Yeti's and held Ice like a champ. I also really appreciated the dry basket that keeps items from getting water logged that are prone to that kind of thing!

One of the Best Gifts to Give

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gifted the Yeti 65 to my parents. Initially I sent them the Yeti 45 and my dad loved it but he asked if there were any bigger coolers so we gave the 45 to my sister and brother-in-law and then sent my dad & mom the Yeti 65.

My dad was super excited to receive it as they're getting a whole ton of pork/bacon from one of their pigs this fall and need an easy way to transport it cold. But they also do a bunch of boating and wanted to be able to have a ton of storage for the longer days on the lake.

A few of the things they said they really loved were as follows:

With the super thick walls this thing can sit in the sun and the beer inside still stays cool.

At 65 liters, it's got a good amount of storage but is a little cumbersome to transport.

Has the same handles at the other Yeti coolers but at 65 liters is a little tough to move around when loaded. Definitely a two person operation.

Overall they love there Yeti 65 and will have it for years and years to come. Solid investment.

        Keeps it's cool

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Seriously the best cooler I have bought so far! Especially here in Utah were it can get way over 100 degrees when in the desert you need a cooler that can keep it's cool. Not only does it come with a handy dandy rack to keep all your eggs from getting wet, Yeti includes a user's manual that teaches you how to use your yeti cooler to it's fullest potential. Did I mention that you get a free bottle opener if you register your cooler with their website?!!? it's freaking awesome! Oh yeah and the 5 year warranty is bomber! So stoked to have this cooler for our future camping trips!

        Top notch camping cooler

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

We use this for longer car camping trips. This is the perfect size of cooler for multi-day trips like that. Plenty of space for the food plus the ice for, say, a two to five day trip for two people.

My wife and I love this thing. It's tough, it keeps the food cold for the entire trip, and exceedingly sturdy. Doesn't get too heavy to be unable to be carried by one with a full set of food and ice.

        last cooler youll ever own

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

i have the 20, 45, 65 and 120 Yeti coolers. They are all amazing.

Super thick insulation all over, including the lid, which is important. The lid is strong enough to stand on, and is textured for doing so. (They do that so you can stand on it and sight fish off a boat)

Freezer style and high quality seal. Theyre replaceable, but Ive never had one go out. The rope handles can be easily and cheaply replaced, and they do wear out from time to time.

They have holes in the corners to lock them with a Masterlock. Ok, thats important! If you ever leave these coolers in the bed of your truck, they will be stolen. Ive had one stolen. So, use the holes and lock them to your tie downs with something stout. Also, prevents people at tailgates from stealing your booze once youre in the game.

Theyre totally worth it. And, they have a great warranty. To tell you how I got hooked on them, and to tell you how durable they are:

I was in a truck in BFE with a few buddies. Tons of stuff in the bed for a camping trip, including an Igloo and a Yeti... We came around a corner, elk in the road. Driver swerves, off the road we go. Truck rolls. Thank gosh, all had on seatbelts. We get out. Lick our wounds. Gear is everywhere. The Igloo is in pieces... The Yeti never even OPENED, much less got destroyed. Been a fan ever since.

Now, helpful hint... In the summer, to make ice last the longest possible - prep your cooler before filling. Use dry ice and cool the inside down. Then, fill the cooler and ice the contents down. It will add a day or two to the ice. Also, remember, the more full a cooler is, the easier it is to keep cool. So, pack it to the top with food, ice, beer, whatever. But, the fuller the better.
