Yeti Cycles 575 w/ CTD $0.00
A timeless classic.
The 575 is a pillar of mountain bike history, and with modern tweaks it continues to satisfy dirt junkies while offering a platform that new riders won't outgrow once dependent on that single-track rush. When Yeti Cycles introduced the first 575, it stretched the limits of what a lightweight full-suspension bike could do, as it flirted with nearly six inches of travel -- an unheard of combination.
It was such a ground breaking chassis that it's become one of the longest running models in Yeti's impressive line of mountain bikes. It continues to play the all-mountain role with the skill of a seasoned veteran, yet it's equally at home on any cross-country trail. What makes that so is Yeti's hydroformed aluminum tubing.
Yeti's frame designs are highly respected throughout the off-road cycling community for their balance of weight and strength. The 575's shapely top tube is constructed from 7005 alloy, and it's been designed to provide the tapered head tube with plenty of strength and stiffness for pinpoint handling. At the bottom bracket junction, extensive machining results in precise bores for the double-row cartridge bearings. This ensures excellent tracking and smooth operation from the new alloy rear end. Yeti opted for aluminum this time around, instead of the complicated, and expensive to produce, carbon rear triangle. It still offers the same level of quality as the previous version, but it helps keep the 575 accessible. Not to mention that the new triangle features wider and stiffer chainstays for both durability and lively acceleration.
Controlling the suspension movement is a Fox Float with the new CTD dampening -- ensuring a simple user interface and easy tuning. CTD offers three pre-tuned compression dampening options for climbing, trail, and descending. The suspension is Yeti's proven Active Suspension design that utilizes a dog bone. The dog bone, or aluminum swing link, reduces side-to-side flex of the swing arm, additionally it prevents side loading of the rear shock. This extends the rear shock's life span, and also controls the leverage ratio to dictate the suspension's feel. It's tuned for a soft feel at the beginning travel that stiffens at the end of the travel.
This provides the 575 with a plush, bottomless characteristic that still pedals with ease -- what has made it a favorite ride all these years. The 575 uses ISCG03 tabs for running a chain guide, and it has cable routing for a seat dropper. It's equipped with a direct mount front derailleur, and a 30.9mm seatpost.
The Yeti Cycles 575 w/ CTD Adjust uses a standard 73mm bottom bracket, and a 44/56mm tapered inset headtube. A 150mm fork will complement the 575's geometry nicely, and the rear stays will clear 2.35in wide tires. Yeti gives you the option to run a 135 x 10mm or 142 x 12mm rear axle. It's available in sizes X-Small through X-Large and three colors; White, Lime, and Black.
