Hi - i'm curious will the king joe 3 fit a VW T5 Multivan? or VW T5 Transporter? these are just vans with large tailgates, but not sure if it'd fit... thanks
The T5 isn't listed in Yakima's online fit guide, but the Eurovan is, and the King Joe is compatible with that. The strap system used with the King Joe alloys it to fit most vehicles.
dented car, tough fit for some bikes
Used the KingJoe Pro 3 on the back of a 2011 Subaru Outback with three bikes - 1 adult mountain bike, 1 adult small women's hybrid and 1 kids 24". The lower support area which meets the vehicle just below the license plate left a sizeable dent in the gate. The mountain bike fit fine but bikes with angled top tubes are tough. It's difficult to not have the handle bars from one bike sticking through the spokes of the other.

How much weight capacity it can carry and can it be used for Honda Civics (2012 sedan)?
The KingJoe Pro3 has a weight limit of 90lbs and will fit a Civic sedan.

Hey jj berdeski,
Thanks for the question. I checked with Yakima and I found that the KingJoe Pro 3 Bike Rack will indeed work on your Cadillac SRX.

SUPERJOE VS. KINGJOE
The Super Joe series has cradles but the arm that holds the bikes is the same arm that extends out and rests on the top of the trunk.
The result: you cant spread the arms as far apart so this mount has less of a chance of fitting a car with, say, a spoiler. Also on the Super Joe are tubular pads that protect your car from the support arms. The King Joe is our premium mount replete with cradles and triangular pads that have a softer material and because they are triangular, fit your car better. The King Joe also has 3 independent arms so that you have a wider range of spread. It also allows you to fold down the load arms when empty of bikes.
Does the job
Quickly straps to my 2003 VW GTI (Golf) and carries my bike with ease. PROS: Very sturdy, durable, well built, easily adjusted, easy to use, folds into self when you aren't carrying bikes. CONS: My full-suspension bike (Santa Cruz) won't slide past the first set of straps/mounts due to the suspension/frame design. Rack carries 3 Road bikes O.K., but 3 mountain bikes isn't easily done. I'm sure the construction would carry the weight, it's a matter of room when it comes to carrying them. Has plenty of room for 2 mtn bikes though. Overall, I would buy this again and recommend it.
