Go your own way.

One difference between WTB's Vigilante Team Issue TCS 27.5in Tire and the standard Vigilante is that instead of a 50/60a Dual DNA compound, a tacky 45a durometer rubber covers a 60a base. This means that it shares the same nicely proportionate blocks and spacing that allow this 2.3in-wide tire to excel in both loose and wet all-mountain conditions -- only now it's optimized to favor traction with a Gravity DNA rubber compound.

The sticky 45a rubber grips like nothing else in WTB's line, and because of the 60a base, it won't squirm under heavy use or loose energy under power. Also, once you wear through the 45a outer, the 60a rubber helps to increase longevity. Another important difference is that the Team Issue Vigilante uses an Enduro casing.

This means that it receives an additional cut-resistant nylon layer at the sidewall in order to boost the Tubeless Compatible System's (TCS) resistance to punctures on technical trails that are strewn with sharp rocks. TCS is a lightweight, sealant-based tubeless casing that provides a positive bead and rim hook joint to prevent burping and air loss.

The Vigilante Team Issue TCS 27.5in Tire is UST compatible, with the use of sealant, and it's available in the 2.3in width. Please note that this tire does not include either tire sealant or rim tape.

All mountain all the time

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This tire is great for a bike you want to pedal up the hill and open it upon the down. It doesn't punish you on the up for grip on the way down and it holds one like a leach. Get em while the price is good,

Great tire

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Had been using Hans damf for quite awhile, they weren't on sale these were. Wow! these are probably better for loose to damp conditions on trail or DH. Spent 3 days in Fernie, Bc doing DH and trail and never slipped or slid on corners or roots the whole time... Awesome.

Stickier than the gum under your shoe!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Having used this tire since spring, I have put it to use in all sorts of trail conditions from snowy wet muck to loose, dry moondust and ball bearings. This tire bites like no other I have used, and inspires more confidence than I probably need. I've been running the Vigilante up front and can only think of one instance where I lost the tire out from under me, something I am more than familiar with on many other tires. After over 4 months of riding nearly everyday, the Team issue looks brand new still, with barely any visible tread wear and, knock on wood, no flats. WTB's TCS system works super well too, inflating easily and staying seated despite ultra low pressures and hard riding. Plus you don't need moto levers and bloody knuckles to throw in a tube trailside. Basically the Vigilante Team Issue is exactly what a tire should be, Sticky, Durable, and Easy!

Great photo Dan! Thanks for sharing!

Vigilantes out in the desert

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Spent a few days charging around southern UT with some Vigilantes aboard an Enve AM 27.5" wheelset. The wider rim meant a wide contact patch, which meant loads of confidence to push these things, and push them I did. I wouldn't want them for an XC race over hardpack (go with the Wolverines or the Bee Lines for that), but this particular rubber has an appetite for the gnarly, indeed. Sandy, rocky, loose, nasty stuff, even in tight turns, couldn't disturb these tires from their chosen path. Super confident. When we got back to civilization, I immediately spec'd them out on a bike for myself, which is the highest compliment I can pay to any gear I sell. Love these tires.
