WTB Silverado Pro Saddle $89.95
Pampered from the package to the bum.
Mount up a bum-lovin’ Silverado Pro Saddle, and treat yourself to WTB’s dedication to pampering mountain bike-riding posteriors. A long, flat nose makes climbing on-the-rivet with the Silverado Pro less painful than narrow, scrot-torturing racer-boy saddles. Meanwhile, a Flex-Tuned shell and Comfort Zone with DNA padding provides the right amount of yield and support so you can stay seated and pedal through rough terrain.

Excellent for cyclocross and gravel
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I picked up one of these on sale a few years ago to replace a Fizik Arione with a broken rail on my cyclocross bike, and wasn't really expecting much, I just needed a cheap replacement- just about anything works for a short 1 hr race. But what a surprise! This is actually a great saddle for long rough gravel rides, I thought I'd replace it soon with another Arione, but on the cross bike with a slightly more upright position than my road racers the Silverado feels great- no cutout (which I hate, when they're in the wrong place they're miserable) but the channel is nice, and the top fairly flat from side to side like the Arione, but a slight dip front to back like a less pronounced Aliante. The Silverado allows for nice movement for climbing and on-the-rivet riding but there's definitely a sweet spot in the middle which feels comfortable and "settled" for long steady hours (16hr+ adventures). Enough padding, but not too much, and the cover material is good, doesn't pull on your shorts when you move around, minimizing chafing. And while just about any saddle works for cyclocross racing, the low profile, flat wide(ish) back and light-enough-but-still-beefy rails (CroMo is a smart choice for abusive CX), it's a great saddle for 'cross and rough endurance gravel rides. Nice price even at MSRP. This is Katie Compton's race saddle (Ti version I think) so it's worth a look for women as well. I'll keep the Ariones for my road bikes with racer-boy position, but everything else- CX, commute, gravel, MTB has had a Silverado now for the past several years.
