Description

GRRRRRR.

Enjoy treacherous descents? How about epic all-day rides? Looks like WTB made the Prowler MX with you in mind. Aggressive side knobs hold your line through off-camber turns, and a shifted center tread claws for traction on loose climbs. The Prowler thrives in nasty conditions, dry and muddy alike, complementing your All-Mountain rig with the meaty rubber it deserves.

Not worth the money

I have these in 29er size and they are bomber true to size and bullet proof. In 26er size I have had nothing but trouble. Even riding mild trails I've managed to slice the tires while running a reasonable tire pressure.

Used as a rear the traction is fine but the constant exploding from massive gashes gets old really fast. Just last night I went from tubeless to tubes (x2) and I had to boot the tire twice just to get back. I've never had so much trouble with a tire.

Also it claims 2.1 but I measure with a caliper at 1.9. It is a pretty narrow tire.

Worst Tire Ever

These are absolutely the worst tires I have ever owned. Horrible traction on anything but moist dirt. I have my worst crash ever as a direct result of the lack of grip on these tires. Morning dew on top of rocks was the deal breaker for me causing me to either spin the tires or completely slide out from under me. The rubber does not have the most durable of compounds either.

How is the sidewall thickness on these tires? Would the be suitable to ride in rocks?
I think tire info should include sidewall thickness.

Good overall tires

I've put roughly 30-40 miles on these tires with no issues (I ride an Iron Horse hard tail). The traction is good, but I was expecting the 2.1s to be wider. My previous tires were 2.1 width, but these seem narrower. I'd get the 2.3s if I had to do it over.

WTB ProwlerMX tubeless tire

I like the ProwlerMX tubeless tire. It has gnarly knobs that the mud won't stick in. I run mine at 60lbs and they take a beating from curbs and anything else that might get in the way. The only thing I didn't like is that they are a little skinny for my taste. All in all its a good tire and I recommend it.
