WTB Dissent Comp Tire - 26er $0.00
Not designed for the beaten path.
The WTB Dissent Tire is all about going against the grain and not bowing down to the status quo. Featuring unconventional, opposing-direction side knobs, the Dissent bites hard when other tires simply nibble. A deep center tread provides braking confidence when terrain gets steep—but sheds-mud easily so you don't carry half the landscape along with you. Since it's designed specifically as a downhill/ freeride, going fast is in the Dissent's blood—or rubber.

Excellent tire for the money. Got the 2.5 and they are good in the freeride park.
Good tire for the money from Chainlove...
...fast service, too. Been using it for heavy AM/ light Freeride stuff for about ten rides now, with little show of wear. The side of the tire says 65-35 psi, but I've been running mine at 30 psi for the whole time without a single pinch flat or tire sidewall issue. That said, I'm not doing 15 ft drops...
Seems to do well in moist, loose soil. Rounded profile and relatively small for a 2.3 tire (but that's coming from my old Specialized Chunders that are also "2.3" but more like a 2.5 tire). I like the look of a more square tire...but looks don't count for much. These seem to hook up well, until you're really leaned over, then shazam, the seem to just give way.
Once in deep mud, they just slide around, game over, but that's to be expected; they're not a dedicated swamp tire.
All in all, though, a great value; got them off of Chainlove one night at midnight for 12 bucks a piece and they seem to do great front and back, and priced on HucknRoll at 17 a piece is still well worth it.
My 2011 Giant Anthem X2 came with 2.1's...
My 2011 Giant Anthem X2 came with 2.1's stock. Does anyone know if these will fit my stock wheels? Thanks for any help!
My guess is that they probably will, but look at your wheel; it states on the side of the tire for greater than 25mm (probably inside diameter) rim width, so take that into consideration.
That said, they're pretty narrow for a 2.3, with a rounded profile. Hook up well, though, and do well in moist, loamy soil.
measure your rim width. Should be an inch wide inside for 2.3 and a little wider for a 2.5.
