Great tire, one bad egg

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got 2 of these tires for my training wheels. I have used them in the past, had good results. 1 of the tires I received developed a small tear in the side wall, most likely due to wear it was folded and just got a touch weaker right there. I still have full faith in the durability of these tires! And will keep rolling them.

The Standard

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my standard training tire (I do used the Rubino Tubulars for racing). They seem to hold up better than most on the "goat head" infested chipped sealed roads that I ride on. I have used them for years and every time I try out a new training tire I come back to these wondering why I even bothered trying something new. For the price I don't think they can be beat.

As strong a tire as you get

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Before upgrading to the Diamante, I put close to 5k miles on a pair of these riding on a mix of bad pavement, chip and seal, gravel and dirt. My better half is still rockin' the pair I mounted on her bike in 2008 and has never gotten a flat. The tires have a great feel, really quiet, and, based on our experience, totally bomb proof.
