Say goodbye to chafing.

Tri gear has to do a lot, but there's never an excuse for obscene chafing halfway into the run. Luckily, though, the California-based TYR's Carbon Women's Tri Tank is the remedy for our discontent.

To make the Carbon, TYR incorporated a blend of nylon and spandex. Why? Well, it all comes down to three key components: moisture management, comfort, and stretch. The nylon fibers of the fabric lend themselves to the first two of these characteristics, as the material is lightweight and soft-to-the-touch. Accordingly, it pulls moisture away from the skin to the quick-drying surface of the material. As a result, you not only benefit from a dry, protective layer, but your skin also remains dry and free from moisture-induced chafing. Meanwhile, the spandex provides a four-way stretch to the material, enabling a complete freedom of movement within the top. Additionally, this allowed stretch enables the material to follow your diverse movements, preventing the top from resisting them. Accordingly, friction is nearly eliminated, bolstering the overall comfort of the top.

TYR also included dedicated inserts along the side panels in order to increase stretch, ventilation, and moisture management. These panels have been constructed from a blend of nylon, polyester, Lycra, and carbon mesh. Why carbon mesh? Well, it possesses natural antistatic properties for comfort and smoothness, but it is also a major combatant of moisture. Additionally, carbon is also naturally antimicrobial. Thus, the fabric maintains consistent temperature regulation while  keeping you dry, comfortable, and free from rancorous odors.

In terms of fit, TYR cut this top with racing in mind. Accordingly, it possesses a next-to-skin fit that's free from flapping. The armholes have been inset from the shoulder, allowing a complete freedom movement for the arms, and you'll also find that this design eliminates any bunching, binding, or pinching during the locomotion of your swim or run. To top if off, TYR built in UPF 50+ sun protection and included an ample-sized rear pocket to house all of your race nutrition and accessories.

NOTE: To cater to different needs and budgets, TYR engineers two triathlon lines. Competitor garments offer a compressive fit, while carbon garments offer a super compressive fit for a second-skin feel. You should select your same, standard size for both carbon and competitor garments but expect slightly different fits.
How to Measure:
For best results take measurements over your underwear, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Chest:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Waist:
Bend to the side and measure around the place where your waist bends, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Hip:
Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of the hip.
Torso:
With someone's help, run a tape measure full circle from your shoulder at the neck, over the fullest part of your chest, down through the center of your crotch and back up to the starting point.
