X0 DH GXP Singlespeed Crankset

Downhill-specific cranksets have always been incredibly stiff and could survive a nuclear blast; until now they could also serve as effective boat anchors. The Truvativ X0 DH Crankset is poised to change half of that tough-but-heavy reputation. The reason for the weight reduction is that the X0 DH Crank is made with carbon fiber construction similar to its cross-country X0 counterparts. The hundreds of grams you save over the comparable Holzfeller DH crankset is a big deal on your race bike.

SRAM engineers figured out a way to use a stiff, structural foam core inside the burly composite skin. Molding the carbon around the core allows the layup to obtain perfect compaction, reducing voids and optimizing the cloth/resin ratio for high strength and the lightest possible weight. Both ends of the crankarms have an integral 7075-T6 alloy plug to accommodate the interface between the arm and the spindle or pedal. While it may be easy to dismiss the idea of carbon DH cranks with a roll of the eyes and a pass of the hand, don't think for a second that they're weaker than their aluminum counterparts. Part of SRAM's goal for X0 DH parts was to make them tough enough to handle the punishment of World Cup racing.

The Truvativ X0 DH Crankset has clear coated carbon fiber arms with a Black anodized 7075-T6 aluminum spider and chainring. It has a standard 104mm bolt circle and is available with a 34, 36, or 38t chainring. It comes in three crankarm lengths -- 165, 170, and 175mm. You also have the option to select the bottom bracket/spindle width. Choose GXP (73mm) or GXP83 (83mm) The bottom bracket is NOT included.
