TruVativ cranksets have earned a devoted following for their rugged construction and wallet-friendly pricetag, and have been stealthily tucked into pro-level builds for years. For 2017, TruVativ's parent company, SRAM updates the aesthetics and infuses the Descendant Carbon GXP Direct Mount Crankset with its X-SYNC chainring design for confident chain retention over the roughest trails.
SRAM builds the Descendent crankset with carbon fiber arms for stiff, efficient power transfer while also remaining strong enough for enduro and light enough for gram-conscious XC racers. The aluminum direct mount chainring eliminates more bulk, letting the clean updated aesthetics of the crank be showcased uninterrupted.
As you confidently crush trails that used to leave you clinging white-knuckled to the bars, the Descendant's X-SYNC chainring will be latched onto your chain, its commendable squared-off, narrow-wide tooth design expertly guiding it around and around whether the day features dusty singletrack or mud of unknown depths. Finally, the design gives you the freedom to add a bash guard to protect your chainring if you'd like, and it's compatible with any SRAM 1x drivetrain.
