T-Bone Knee Guard

You and your enduro sled have a date bombing down some tacky singletrack this afternoon, but the last thing you want to do is layer up with a bunch of bulky, stiff padding before you head out. Troy Lee Designs' T-Bone Knee Guards will protect the skin on your knees without getting in the way as you pedal, and they're beefy enough to handle their fair share of encounters with the ground. A nylon-covered EVA outer knee shell shields your kneecap from hard hits, while silicone grippers and two stretchy hook-and-loop straps keep the pads in-place and allow you to dial in a custom fit that works for you.

Great Pads

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I normally wear medium sized pads but I actually had to size down on these because I had to fully extend the straps to fit and I was worried it could slip. I've had G-form and Fox slip on style knee pads and they slip down a lot during a ride and it's annoying, also they don't hold up very well on bigger crashes . First wore these on the Whole Enchilada and these TLD T-Bone pads has straps that definitely helps prevent slipping and I don't even notice these pads during a climb. Has decent padding on strategic parts of the knee. Really liking these knee pads so far.

These save my ass!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This is my second pair of T Bones and I swear by them. My last pair has been going strong (because I fall a LOT) for two years now... The only thing to be advised about is washing. Close the straps all the way to fully cover the Velcro on both pads before you throw into the wash! My last pads had to have the Velcro replaced because it wouldn?t stick anymore and I?ve gotten much smarter now. After some time, they will smell even if you wash them...it?s the name of the game. Bath water and baking soda did the trick. Will never wear different pads!!

Knee pads you don?t think about

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These offer good protection in a lightweight easy to pedal package. The straps don?t bind and they don?t shimmy down or bunch up. Like them so much I even use them for skateboarding.
