Description

A tailored fit.

Even if you have the opportunity to try them on, it can be tough to tell whether a pair of shorts will fit once you're wearing your pads. Troy Lee Designs Ruckus Shorts take care of this problem with a totally customizable fit at the waist and at the cuffs. Ruckus Shorts also have a removable liner with a chamois and built-in stretch panels for ridiculous all-day comfort.

The most important feature of Troy Lee Ruckus Shorts is the removable chamois liner. The chamois pulls moisture away from your skin to keep you dry and cool and pads you while you ride. Anyone who has spent three or four hours in the saddle knows the importance of both of these functions. Just as important, however, is the fact that the liner is removable. This means you can take off the liner and go straight to work, the pub, or wherever you need to go without having to wear your sweaty chamois. You can also wear Ruckus shorts as everyday casual shorts until it's time to ride and then -padded riding shorts!

The main body of Ruckus Shorts is made with two-way stretch lightweight breathable polyester, so you won't ever feel it bind as you contort in mid-air. A large stretch panel at the back gives you even more freedom of movement. The fabric lets your skin breathe to regulate its temperature while it wicks moisture away. Pockets are located on the sides of the legs so you can't feel the contents while you pedal. At the waist there are tabs that allow you to adjust the waistband for a perfect custom fit. Ruckus Shorts also have adjustments at the cuffs so you can change the length of the short as well.

Troy Lee Designs Ruckus Shorts are available in even sizes from 30 to 38. They come in Black, Lime Green, or Orange.

Love these

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Ive been sporting these for a while.. IMO the troy lee shorts with the chamois inside are great! Crazy comfortable. The Ace shorts have a slightly smaller and more stretchy feel to me, both are great choices- I am returning some One Industries right away, the color is gross, the Chamois has nasty piping around the edge and feel horrible, and they fit weird.

Satisfied with Troy Lee purchases

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The chamois is perfect, pant material is nice. The pockets are a downside for lack of storage.

Great Shorts

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These shorts have a great fit. Perfect for AM/ DH riding. Very comfortable cut and fabric. Really like the included chamois. The pocket size is a little disappointing though. Not a big deal when riding but the pockets barely fit my iPhone, and keys. A lot of times I end up hanging out in my ride shorts after the ride and that is when the small pockets get annoying.

Good Choice.

Great materials and fit. Most liners can pinch a bit near the knee if its an elastic or rubber grip sleeve. Not these, nice soft liner with a simple hem. Stays put and super comfy.
These do fit a little long but no issues on the sled. My first TLD's and not the last for sure!

Awesome shorts!

I know these are men's shorts, but being a tall girl in the MTB world has limitations in options with clothing. These work great (of course a bit baggy)! Very breathable and they hold up to the gritty granite I ride. Sweet shorts!

Not so great

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought these and a pair of Fox Sargent at the same time. These fit small. The pockets are tiny (only two front pockets and only one has a zipper.) No cargo pockets which was disappointing. The lime green color is sick though! That's about the only plus I have for these shorts. The chamois fits really small also.

Solid shorts, really nice chamois

These shorts have a really good chamois. I wore these on a 30 mile ride for the second time last weekend and was impressed. The outer short is light weight and stretchy and they have a baggy fit to them. They are long but they do offer the ability to shorten them by 1" if need be.

Super Nice, but long

I compared these to the Ace shorts. I ended up going with the Ace, but it was not an easy decision. The clincher was that these were just a little bit longer fitting, and this pair of shorts were going to be my XC/AM shorts so I wanted max pedaling comfort. these are still great though, light and stretch so they will pedal well. If you have crazy long legs, or tend to do more shuttle rides and less climbing then you will love these. If you want shorts for long XC rides though, look for the Ace. Another downfall of these is that only the left pocket is zippered... but that comes down to your preference and what you generally put in your pockets.

Awesome buy!

ove these shorts! Sizing is spot on and they are super comfy to ride in. Removable liner makes washing much easier. Only complaint it the buttons on the inner liner seam cheap, had one pop off the first time i took the liner out
